About The Pack
Nic Peterkin has been on a stratospheric trajectory since he started L.A.S. Vino only a few short years ago.
Named Gourmet Traveller WINE's Young Winemaker of the Year in 2016, Nic has set Margaret River on fire with his imaginative and downright delicious range.
His new releases are in great form. This is the best way to check them out!
2017 L.A.S. Vino Wildberry Springs Chardonnay
Nic Peterkin's star is on the rise. He forms part of the New Guard of WA wine blazing a new trail for the West.
With deep family roots in Margaret River wine and a lifetime spent surrounded by some of the finest examples of Margaret River Chardonnay, Nic has a keen eye for fruit and his own take on style for the great White grape of Margaret River.
Here, Nic takes Chardonnay from 20 year old vines in the heart of Wilyabrup, the epicentre of all top-flight Chardonnay in this region. Plenty of lees stirring and full malo, a dash of new oak makes this as flashy, and as wickedly decadent as Chardonnay gets from this part of the world.Read more about 2017 L.A.S. 2016 L.A.S. Vino Pirate Blend
The Pirate Blend. Now this is a wine with a lot of personality. This is different than your average Margaret River blend.
It is comprised of three Portuguese native varieties and a dash of Cabernet, inspired by Nic's time making wines in Portugal: Touriga Nacional, Tinta Cao and Sousao, all three of these characters offer something a little different to the party.
The bottle looks like it has just been brought up from below deck and the wine itself feels raw and untamed, but underneath it all is some serious winemaking and a clear vision which has been realised brilliantly by Peterkin.
Want to see what is on the cutting edge of Margaret River? The Pirate Blend is it!Read more about 2016 L.A.S. Vino Pirate Blend
2017 L.A.S. Vino Albino PNO
The Albino PNO is a unique and wonderful creation.
A flat table wine made out of 8 barrels of Pinot Noir and 2 of Chardonnay, the Pinot is pressed gently off its skins and both varieties fermented separately in barrel. No fining, no filtration, this is a seriously funked up Rosé.
In the pursuit of "strawberries and cream" in a bottle, Nic's Albino is textural, delightful and thought-provoking. And most importantly, it is ridiculously moreish.
The whole thing just works, from concept to the eye-catching packaging. Very, very, impressive stuff.Read more about 2017 L.A.S. Vino Albino PNO
