Description

Finding good-value Pinot Noir made by artisan producers is a difficult thing.

Pinot's delicate nature means it needs to be nursed to bottle. That extra care takes time and money, hence the soaring price of the best examples in the country. We've done the hunting for you to get you six of the best value examples that we could find at a very good price. A no-brainer pack for the Pinotphiles out there.

  • 2024 Two Tonne Tasmania TMV Pinot Noir
  • 2024 Mac Forbes Yarra Valley Pinot Noir
  • 2025 Garagiste Le Stagiaire Pinot Noir
  • 2024 Swinging Bridge M.A.W. Pinot Noir
  • 2025 William Downie Cathedral Pinot Noir
  • 2025 Mulline Pinot Noir

2024 Two Tonne Tasmania TMV Pinot Noir

This is the wine that kicked it all off for Ricky Evans, and after 13 vintages, it just keeps getting better. A true snapshot of the Tamar Valley, TMV Pinot blends fruit from Ricky’s own vineyards with a couple of trusted growers, delivering a cracking Pinot that’s both effortless and detailed.

Think bright red berries - raspberry, wild strawberry, a bit of cranberry - wrapped up in fine, chalky tannins with a flicker of spice. There’s just enough whole bunch (10%) to add a little lift, and a stint in old barriques (only 10% new) keeps everything fresh, juicy, and dangerously easy to drink.

Pure Tassie Pinot pleasure - made to be opened, enjoyed, and probably finished faster than you planned. Stocks are always tight, so don’t sit on your hands.

"The 2024 TMV Pinot Noir (Tamar Valley) is supple and spicy on the nose, laden with an abundance of red fruits, exotic spices and new leather... This is a really good wine, a testament to the excellent growing season that was experienced here in 2024, and it's set up for a bright future ahead."
- Erin Larkin (The Wine Advocate)

2024 Mac Forbes Yarra Valley Pinot Noir

Mac Forbes has been amongst the loudest voices for site-driven Pinot in the Yarra for nearly two decades, and this regional release is where it all begins. It’s a blend across several vineyards, pulled together to show a snapshot of the Valley in a single bottle.

The 2024 season delivered small crops and steady ripening, giving fruit of good intensity without tipping into heaviness. In the winery it’s all pretty hands-off – whole bunches in the mix, wild ferments, old oak – the aim is perfume, texture and clarity rather than polish.

What ends up in the glass is bright and expressive. Red cherry, cranberry and raspberry sit upfront, with some spice, sap and gentle earthy notes in behind. It's light bodied, silky in texture, with fine tannins and a clean, energetic finish.

A great introduction into the wonderful world of Mac Forbes, and terrific bang for buck.

2025 Garagiste Le Stagiaire Pinot Noir

Every year, Barney Flanders takes a selection of some of his favourite Pinot parcels from his Mornington sites - Balnarring, Red Hill, Merricks Grove and now Merricks North - and throws down a Pinot that makes the rest of the $35ish crowd in the region look a bit undercooked.

Merricks North leads the blend this year, with plush, perfumed Dijon clones lifting the deep, structural MV6 from the other sites. Whole berries, wild ferments, a short spell on skins, then time in large oak and concrete before bottling it with no fining and no filtering.

It’s got a real Mornington weight and presence to it. Ripe red fruits, a flicker of spice, and a smooth ride of tannin through the finish. When we tasted the 2025, we commented that it feels like Barney's pulled back on the structure and upped the slurpability in this release. It's hard to picture a better value entry into Mornington Pinot than this little beauty.

This is one of our most popular wines every year. How Barney manages to get this quality at this price point never ceases to amaze us but we're glad he does and hope he never stops!

2024 Swinging Bridge M.A.W. Pinot Noir

Pinot Noir is Tom Ward’s great passion, and the M.A.W. -named for his father, Mark Andrew Ward - is where he introduces drinkers to his vision for Orange Pinot. It’s not about grand gestures or cellar swagger, but about charm, clarity and drinkability.

The 2024 vintage gives exactly that. Bright red cherries, raspberries and a flicker of spice leap from the glass, the palate supple and juicy with just enough savoury grip to keep things interesting. It’s light on its feet, shaped for early enjoyment, yet unmistakably crafted with the care that defines all Swinging Bridge wines.

Think of M.A.W. as your entry point: a window into the style and potential of Orange Pinot, without the wait or the price tag of Tom’s single-vineyard bottlings. A youthful expression that's ready to rip, and it's absolutely delicious.

2025 William Downie Cathedral Pinot Noir

William Downie is a bonafide star of the Gippsland wine movement, having garnered his expertise from Burgundy and Australian icons like Bass Phillips and De Bortoli.

The 2025 Cathedral is Downie’s best yet made by a seriously good vintage and a smart blend of sites that came together just right.

King Valley leads the charge (70%), backed by parcels from the Yarra (20%) and Upper Goulburn (10%). It’s a darker, more spiced expression this year - plum, black cherry, pomegranate molasses and a flicker of poached pear, all tied together with some gentle grip and savoury spice. Mace, five spice, crushed rock - it’s got more going on than you’d expect for a wine at this price point.

Still, it’s not a brooder. The structure’s there, but it drinks with ease. As always, it’s bottled unfined and unfiltered. Call it serious Pinot for not-so-serious moments. An absolute bargain, this sits somewhere between glou-glou and serious sipper.

"Easy access style, yet with some sophisticated restraint and coolness to. An attractive drink and a bargain for the bucks."
- Mike Bennie (The Wine Front)

2025 Mulline Pinot Noir

Ben Mullen just has a way with Pinot, and this 2025 release is a perfect example of why we’re such big fans. It’s a blend of fruit from across Geelong - the Moorabool Valley, Surf Coast, and Bellarine - and it basically captures the best of the whole region in one bottle.

The first thing you’ll notice is how bright and pretty it smells. It’s all wild strawberry and raspberry, but there’s this cool savory edge of white pepper and woodsmoke underneath. Ben used a bit of whole-bunch here, which gives it a nice "crunch" and that classic spicy hit we love.

In the mouth, it’s medium-bodied, really supple, and has this lovely silken feel. A nice lick of oak balances the lovely fruit, and it all opens up the longer you leave the bottle open.

You can definitely drink it now - maybe with a slight chill - but it’s got enough stuffing to get even better over the next year or two. A well-made entry-level Pinot that delivers serious value for money.

"With its aromas of wild strawberry, raspberry and some whole-bunch–derived pepper and spice, there's a lot going on in this well-put-together and attractively priced wine."
- Philip Rich (Halliday Wine Companion)

We know Pinot pack

One wine with "true" pinot character (DrEdge) out of the six. Admittedly it's near impossible to get "true" Pinot character at this price point.
Nice "Light Reds" tho !

The whole is greater than the sum of its parts

I have said it before and will say it again, DD's mixed six packs are one of its signature strengths. This pack is par exemplar. As the pursuit of pinot noir continues apace, we're finding more and more regional, stylistic and price point differentiation. This pack provides excellent entry to some of the lighter mid-weight possibilities. A great learning point offer. The whole is greater than the sum of its parts.

Pinot noir

Great pinots, a fantastic selection. Loved it. A 5 star compliment to the team for their professionalism. They made a small error with my order, when I made them aware of it, they rectified the issue at no additional cost and a free bottle of a great Tasmanian Pinot Noir. Always enjoy buying my Pinots with them. The wanders upper Valley (a different purchase batch) was an absolute cracker

No, feel free to mix it up! There is no minimum requirement. You can order wines in any quantity or combination, 1 or 50+ bottles.

No, all prices are set at the full discounted dozen rate already.

Most wine retailers list at a single-bottle price and then discount 10–15% when you buy six or twelve. We've taken the opposite approach. Since the overwhelming majority of our orders are already 6 bottles or more, our list price is set for the case buyer from the start. There's no inflated single-bottle price to discount down from.

What that means for you:

- One price, same for everyone — no minimum to hit to unlock the best rate
- No mixed-six gymnastics to qualify for a discount
- Our single-bottle price is typically at or below a traditional retailer's by-the-dozen rate

Put simply: the box discount is already baked into the price.

**And if you find it cheaper elsewhere?** Let us know. If the same wine is available at a lower price at another retailer (including at their mixed-six or by-the-dozen rate) we're happy to match it.

If you can't add more wine to your cart it means we are low on stock of that wine. For example, if you are only able to 3 bottles and no more that means we only have 3 bottles left of that wine. If it's a must have, please contact us and we may be able to order more in for you.
