2025 Rieslingfreak No. 4 Eden Valley Riesling

John Hughes’ deep love of Riesling shines through once again in this superb Eden Valley release.

The 2025 No. 4 is sourced from selected vineyards across the southern ranges of Eden Valley, including the High Eden subregion of Flaxman Valley and sites near Angaston and Springton. In a year defined by record dry conditions, searing heat, and a challenging frost event, these sites yielded fruit of stunning purity and intensity.

Made in a dry style, this Riesling captures Eden Valley at its finest: elegance, perfume, and slate-like minerality. The bouquet leaps with fresh lime, passionfruit, and rosewater, layered with fennel seed, star anise, and a hint of rain on warm slate. The palate is finely structured, bursting with lime juice and elderflower, drawn long by the vintage’s hallmark crisp acidity.

Another deadset bargain for any Riesling lover from John & Belinda Hughes.

97 points & No. 12 in the James Suckling Top 100 Best Value Wine in the World of 2025
"The palate is sharp and focused... The finish is both electric and precise. Excellent."
- Ryan Montgomery (James Suckling)

2024 Charteris Hunter Valley Semillon

PJ Charteris keeps things simple with this Semillon - two hillside blocks, hand picked, whole bunch pressed, a bit of time on ferment lees, and that’s about it. No winemaking trickery, just clean fruit, smart timing, and a long, mild season that let flavour build slowly without pushing sugar too high.

It’s tight and zippy straight out of the gate - lemon pith, green apple, a bit of lime splice and crushed shell. There’s energy and drive, but also texture from the lees, rounding out the palate without dulling it. The acid is fine and crunchy, with a salty edge through the finish. Nothing flashy, just really well put together.

Built to age, but seriously refreshing now - bright, clean and more complex than it first lets on.

95 points
"The impressive mid-palate breadth and texture are the hallmarks of this wine, and the way the flavours dance and weave through the palate is simply mesmerising."
- Toni Paterson (Halliday Wine Companion)

2024 De Iuliis Steven Vineyard Pecorino

Inspired by a trip to his ancestral roots in Abruzzo, Mike De Iuliis planted Pecorino in the sandy soils of the Steven Vineyard back in 2020. This is the third release from those vines, and the first to lean into a slightly more complex, textured style.

The fruit was hand picked, basket pressed, and fermented wild in neutral French oak – then left on full lees for nine months to soften the acidity and build that creamy, saline texture Pecorino can do so well. There’s no new oak, no winemaking tricks – just smart farming and a confident hand in the cellar.

This isn’t your usual zing-and-go white. It’s got weight, shape and a nice savoury twist that makes it just as good with a proper meal as it is chilled in the fridge for a sunny afternoon.

95 points
"Juicy pear flavours, plus nuances of magnolia and sage that add an alluring, sophisticated note. The palate has excellent weight with a faint mealy thread. Serve ice cold to highlight the savoury tones, amplify the sherbety acid vein and temper the sweetness of the fruit."
- Toni Paterson (Halliday Wine Companion)

2025 Mulline Pinot Gris

Pinot Gris (or Grigio) has come a long way in Australia. From humble beginnings in southern Victoria, it was the first 'alternative' variety to officially graduate the AAVWS and be seen as a mainstream variety.

It's easy to see why when you look at the Mulline Pinot Gris. This is definitely more Gris than Grigio, with lifted florals, ripe stone fruits and a bit of spice coming through.

The wine also saw a small amount of skin contact to provide colour and texture, which rounds out the rich palate and makes this incredibly more-ish.

96 points
"Beautifully poised with its aromas of redcurrant, nectarine, pear and blood orange. Even better on the palate, where the flavours and texture are perfectly balanced by subtle time-on-skins tannins, before finishing orange-pithy and long. Should age nicely, too. Excellent."
- Philip Rich (Halliday Wine Companion)

2025 Sentio Aligote

There are only pockets of Aligote around Australia, and King Valley is producing some of the very best examples.

Produced by the talented Chris Catlow at Sentio, this Aligoté comes from the Darling Estate Vineyard in Upper King Valley. Aligoté, traditionally from Burgundy, France, has found a new home here, and Chris's passion for Burgundian-style wines shines through. With experience with Burgundy's Benjamin Leroux, Chris learnt first-hand how to get the best out of these Burgundian varieties.

Chris has conjured a lovely, complex dry white that is slippery, waxy, bright and racy. It sees some oak, as the grape does in its Burgundian homeland, but this cedary, nutty character really enhances the orchard fruit dense core.

Awesome off-piste but classically drinking white.

"It slides, it glides, it twists and pinches, but most importantly—it satisfies."
- Kasia Sobiesiak (The Wine Front)

2024 Nick Spencer Tumbarumba Chardonnay

"Nick Spencer is one of the better winemakers in this country.”
- Gary Walsh

"Australian wine can be a brash place, but it still manages to provide harbour to some considered, thoughtful souls, of which Nick Spencer is one. He is the real deal, in short. His wines are more than wines. They are their grapes laid bare
- Campbell Mattinson

Nick Spencer has been championing Tumbarumba Chardonnay for two decades now, and the 2024 release shows exactly why he’s so committed to this high-country region.

The fruit comes from a unique vineyard in the Maragle Valley, sitting unusually low for Tumbarumba at 500 metres, but close enough to the Snowy Mountains to feel the chill each night as mountain air rushes through. Warm days, cold nights – it’s a recipe for flavour and freshness in perfect balance.

2024 was a standout season here, delivering fruit with richness and intensity without tipping into heaviness. Nick hand-picked and pressed the grapes into a mix of French oak puncheons and amphora, where the wine rested for 14 months on lees. It’s a style that gives depth and texture but keeps everything finely tuned.

This is Chardonnay with drive and personality – elegant but not shy – and a wine that will sit comfortably at the table now while also rewarding a few years in the cellar. Another strong reminder of why Nick is one of NSW’s leading voices for cool-climate wines.

"A wine that not only marks 20 vintages of Chardonnay from this incredible region for me personally, but may well be one of the finest expressions we’ve ever produced."
- Nick Spencer

95 points
"This is a beautiful chardonnay... Wonderful wine."
- Campbell Mattinson (The Wine Front)

Only drunk one so far

I had the 2024 De Ilius Steven vineyard Pecorino at a lunch a few weeks ago. This is a well-balanced wine, interesting flavour with touch of acid and no lingering effect on the throat. It was a delightful drop and will definitely buy some more. Highly recommended.

Excellent Summer pack

The reviews are already in for this pack, but my favourites are the Gentle Folk SV and the De Luliis Semillon.

Top Shot That - Six Not Out

Six varieties, six regions make for interesting explorations and drinking. The surprise packet, the 2024 Gentle Folk Sauvignon Blanc from Adelaide Hills. Wildly removed from the grassy Kiwis, instead more in the Loire or old Fume Blanc style. A great opportunity to try a wine at a very fair price (compared to the cellar door) and one I would never have bought standalone.

A Fresh and Easy-Drinking White Mix Worth Repeating

Really solid mix of whites – fresh, balanced and easy to enjoy. The Rieslingfreak was super crisp and zesty, probably my favourite of the lot. The Vermentino was light and clean, perfect with seafood. Domaine Naturaliste had a nice texture to it – a bit more complex. Sherrah Fiano was interesting, kind of nutty and full. The Grenache Gris was softer, with a bit of a savoury edge. The Denton Chardonnay was smooth and not too oaky – very drinkable. Great value overall – felt like a step up from your usual mixed pack.

No, all prices are set at the full discounted dozen rate already.

Most wine retailers list at a single-bottle price and then discount 10–15% when you buy six or twelve. We've taken the opposite approach. Since the overwhelming majority of our orders are already 6 bottles or more, our list price is set for the case buyer from the start. There's no inflated single-bottle price to discount down from.

What that means for you:

- One price, same for everyone — no minimum to hit to unlock the best rate
- No mixed-six gymnastics to qualify for a discount
- Our single-bottle price is typically at or below a traditional retailer's by-the-dozen rate

Put simply: the box discount is already baked into the price.

**And if you find it cheaper elsewhere?** Let us know. If the same wine is available at a lower price at another retailer (including at their mixed-six or by-the-dozen rate) we're happy to match it.

If you can't add more wine to your cart it means we are low on stock of that wine. For example, if you are only able to 3 bottles and no more that means we only have 3 bottles left of that wine. If it's a must have, please contact us and we may be able to order more in for you.
