2015 Miette GMC
The Miette range is the perfect entry point to the excellent wines of Peter Schell and Spinifex.
Here you get the skill and craft of one of the Barossa's finest winemakers at a bargain basement price.
This is a blend of Grenache, Mataro and Cinsault, built for immediate drinkability. The 2015 is as quaffable as any red you will see at this price but with more class than most.
James Halliday awarded it 95 points. This is one of the best value blends in the Barossa.Read more about 2015 Miette GMC
2015 Miette Shiraz
This is a more classic offering from the ever-creative winemaking hands of Peter Schell. Coming from a range of high quality, old vine Barossa and Eden Valley vineyards, this has all the classic dark, rich Barossa Shiraz flavours but wrapped in an elegant, more savoury 'Spinifexy' frame.
We think this is the best release of this wine so far, and for an everyday-drinking Barossa Shiraz with a real stamp of class, this is a no-brainer.Read more about 2015 Miette Shiraz
2017 Spinifex Papillon
Introducing Papillon - one of the most gluggable reds in the Barossa Valley!
The Spinifex wines cover a wide spectrum, from rich, full-throttled old vine Shiraz all the way to this, a light bodied, energetic Grenache Cinsault blend made for easy day-time drinking.
These styles are certainly in vogue but as usual, winemaking wizard Schell elevates it to another level, utilising incredibly old vines and astute winemaking to add depth and complexity to what is joyously pure red berried fruit.
Papillon is one of our go-to's and just unbeatable value. What a producer Spinifex is.Read more about 2017 Spinifex Papillon
2017 Spinifex Syrah
Pete Schell continues to explore the possibilities with Shiraz/Syrah in his beloved Barossa Valley, and this vibrant and lifted Syrah is a gorgeous drink.
Designed as a more understated and elegant version of Barossa Shiraz, Schell picks fruit from a couple different, cooler sites in the Barossa and Eden Valleys. The grapes are picked earlier to retain freshness and perfume, before seeing a mixture of stainless steel and wooden and concrete fermenters.
Wow, it's delicious! Wild and savoury yet soft and sumptuous, this is Barossa Shiraz unlike we usually see it. Interesting, flavour-packed and more-ish. Another winner from this superstar winemaker.Read more about 2017 Spinifex Syrah
2015 Spinifex Esprit
The Esprit is Peter Schell's Grenache dominant blend made from vines up to 160 years old.
The 2015 Esprit is much heavier on the Grenache component than previous years, the quality of the Grenache fruit demanding front and centre stage in this iteration of the blend.
As Pete says, "With Esprit we are seeking a pure, finely structured expression of the Barossa."
This, as with all Spinifex's wines, is balanced to perfection. If you love old vine Barossa Grenache, value-wise the Esprit is as good as you will find from any producer in the region.Read more about 2015 Spinifex Esprit
2015 Spinifex Bete Noir
Husband and wife team of Peter Schell and Magali Gely have extensive winemaking experience in the south of France, which proves the inspiration for their unique wines made from predominantly Rhone varietals.
Unlike most of Spinifex's wines, 'Bete Noir' is 100% varietal, in this case, Shiraz.
But unlike many big and bold Barossa Shiraz, with 30% of the fruit coming from the Barossa's cooler neighbour Eden Valley this wine has remarkable perfume, elegance and balance.
This has a distinctive 'old world' feel with the vibrancy of South Australian fruit. A wine with an impeccable track record for a true Shiraz connoisseur.Read more about 2015 Spinifex Bete Noir
