2017 Sons of Eden Marschall Shiraz
Marschall is a brilliant little Shiraz, sourced from the sub-regions of Ebenezer and Tanunda where David Marschall (the namesake of this wine) planted his vineyards at the time the Barossa was still finding its feet.
There is no denying it, Corey Ryan and Simon Cowham know how to handle Barossa fruit, and the Marschall is a very slick example of their winemaking nous and prowess in full swing. In terms of top value Shiraz from this part of the world, this wine has a great track record.
The 2017 vintage is a little more elegant than its predecessors, perhaps, but by no means a light-weight. The balance managed by Corey Ryan is absolutely on point in this release.Read more about 2017 Sons of Eden Marschall Shiraz
2016 Sons of Eden Kennedy GSM
The Sons of Eden philosophy is focused around what the Barossa does best, and this Grenache Shiraz Mourvedre blend is a brilliant example of what the label is all about.
Not only that, it's hands down one of the best value GSM's in the country!
It's named after the Kennedy family who owned the 50+ year old, low yielding Grenache vineyard that makes up the majority of this wine. The Shiraz and Mourvedre fruit has similar old vine pedigree giving the wine great concentration, with the restrained use of older French oak really allowing the gorgeous fruit to do the talking.
The 2016 vintage was perfect for the SOE style. Loads of fruit weight without heaviness and the quintessential lushness that you want from the Barossa. An absolute steal.Read more about 2016 Sons of Eden Kennedy GSM
2015 Sons of Eden Pumpa Cabernet Shiraz
Pumpa is a fresh take on the famous Aussie Claret, and it's one of the best value examples of its kind on in the country.
It’s a Cab/Shiraz from the Eden Valley with a dash of young vine Barossa Tempranillo thrown in for good measure, and it's seriously delicious. The Temp adds an element of spice, but really, this wine is all about plush, powerful Cabernet and Shiraz fruit, built into a neat and balanced frame.
The 2015 is another excellent release of this always-popular wine. Full-bodied red lovers rejoice!Read more about 2015 Sons of Eden Pumpa Cabernet Shiraz
2016 Sons of Eden Zephyrus Shiraz
In Ancient Greek mythology, Zephyrus was the God of the west wind. The westerly wind is key to the warmer climate of the Barossa, allowing a cool change in the afternoons to extend the ripening period of the fruit.
Zephyrus is a blend of fruit from eight different vineyards - four each from the Barossa and Eden Valleys. As the Sons put it themselves, "The blend of cooler climate Eden Valley Shiraz (48%) and warmer climate Barossa Valley Shiraz (52%) combine beautifully to enhance the palate structure and aromatics."
A class act South Australian Shiraz that always reviews extremely well, replete with all the richness and depth that the Barossa and Eden Valleys are known for.Read more about 2016 Sons of Eden Zephyrus Shiraz
2015 Sons of Eden Romulus Shiraz
Like it's legendary namesake, Romulus is all shoulders and strength. A brooding and powerful Shiraz, he is the personification of all things Barossa.
Sourced from two separate vineyards that are 80+ and 85+ years old in the Valley, this is a textbook example of why this is our most famous wine producing region. In opposition to the finer boned Remus who sees exclusively French oak, Romulus gets a healthy dose of brand new American oak and takes it in stride.
There is a big movement at the moment towards the cooler climate, more elegant side of Shiraz in this country, but with flavour-packed releases like this from the SOE boys, it’s easy to see why there will always be a place for good ol’ Barossa Shiraz.

2015 Sons of Eden Remus Shiraz
There are two Shiraz in the Sons of Eden ‘Mystical Series’ of wines; Remus and Romulus. These ‘twin’ wines are named after the two brothers who are said to have built Rome. As legend has it, Romulus, the brawnier and stronger of the two (the Barossa Shiraz in this case) killed his more refined, and elegant brother Remus (the Eden Valley equivalent), in a war over the naming of the city.
The best of their Eden Valley wines, Remus, is sourced from two separate 50+ year old vineyards. With a rigorous fruit selection policy and a healthy whack of new French oak, this wine is recognised as one of the highest quality examples of premium Shiraz from the region.
Powerful, complex and built to last, this is a Ferrari of an Eden Valley Shiraz.
