This is PJ's 'village' Pinot Noir, a blend of two sites in Central Otago.

The aim here is to craft something that is complex yet approachable in its youth. The 2016 vintage sees a little whole bunch which gives a gentle smokiness to what s lovely ripe and open fruit. 

In the context of Central Otago Pinot Noir, this offers very good value for money. 

Plenty of power, plenty of fruit.

A lovely example for the region which will only get better over the next 3-5 years.

Burn Cottage is one of the most celebrated Pinot Noirs in New Zealand.

A biodynamic vineyard from day one, this site has been groomed to perfection to produce Pinot Noir that can rival any in the world. Many believe this to be one of the most impressive versions of Pinot Noir outside of Burgundy. 

Planted in only 2003, each year the vines get older, the more intense and complex the wine gets. It's the rare combination of power and finesse that sets the Burn Cottage Pinot Noir apart.

The 2016 vintage was voted the number one Central Otago Pinot Noir by Bob Campbell MW out of 98 wines tasted. He awarded it 98 points. This wine will be one of the prizes of your cellar for many years to come.

This is a very impressive Pinot Noir from one of Marlborough's most respected artisan producers.

The Weaver's Pinot Noir block is planted at 5000 vines per hectare, extremely close plantings such as this force strain on each vine producing drastically less fruit but with vastly more intensity.

It's this sort of quality over quantity approach that has seen the Weavers become synonymous with some of Marlborough's finest offerings.

The 2015 of this wine received 95 points from Gary Walsh and offer great value in the context of premium NZ Pinot Noir.

It would be hard to over state the importance of Felton Road in raising the profile internationally of Pinot Noir from Central Otago.

This benchmark producer releases five iterations of the variety: four single block releases, and this, the Bannockburn Pinot Noir.

This is a blend of seven vineyards across Otago and is often considered a touchstone for the quality of the vintage.

The 2017 looks in supreme form having picked up a huge 96 points in Wine Spectator and 95 points from Gary Walsh.

It's an elegant and immensely impressive wine, undoubtedly one of the most important wines in this famous region.

Dog Point are considered one of the leading producers in the Marlborough region.

A vineyard and team committed to growing grapes organically, they have set the pace for premium, boutique wine growing since the early 1980s.

Their Pinot Noir is both brilliant on release and a pearler in the cellar. It's treated to the very best oak, fermented wild for three weeks and nursed to bottle after 18 months maturation.
