About The Wine

It's increasingly hard to find well made, delightful Pinot Noir that comes in under $30 a bottle. It's hard but not impossible.

This easy-drinking offering from GT WINE NZ Winemaker of the Year, Jules Taylor, delivers a lovely glass of Marlborough Pinot Noir at a very reasonable price.

It shows fresh berries and dark cherry notes, a hint of subtle earth and a fresh, vibrant finish. It's spot on for your mid-week Pinot Noir.

From The Producer

The grapes for this Pinot Noir were grown in Marlborough’s Southern Valleys. The fruit was predominantly hand-picked over a three week period from mid March as optimum ripeness was reached in each block. At the winery a combination of traditional and modern winemaking techniques have been used in order to incorporate the benefits of both approaches. The fruit was all de-stemmed into small open top fermenters and cold soaked for between 5 and 10 days. Following this the juice was fermented with the indigenous yeast that arrived with the fruit from the vineyards. Hand plunging during fermentation ensured good extraction of colour and tannins. Following primary fermentation wine also underwent a full malolactic ferment. Portions of the blend remained on skins post fermentation, while others were pressed at dryness before being transferred to French oak barrels for maturation. The wine was bottled in March of 2020

DDS review

"This Pinot Noir is an intense little number with ripe mulberry and plum flavours. The palate is round and concentrated with the fruit balanced by earthy, savoury and spicy notes, suggesting a wine that will develop nicely over coming years. It has loads of supple, finely managed tannins and the finish is long, spicy and delicious." - Jules Taylor

"Wonderfully fruited and gorgeously complex, the bouquet shows spiced cherry, dark plum, game, dark mushroom and toasted almond characters. The palate delivers excellent concentration and fleshy mouthfeel, enhanced by silky texture and savoury nuances. It is flavoursome and generous, while remaining elegant and classically structured. At its best: now to 2022." - Cameron Douglas MS

Australia Wide Deliveries To the rest of Australia we use Australia Post. The Australia Post Collection Truck picks up orders from our Sydney warehouse every weekday at midday. If your order is placed before 12pm we’ll get it on the truck that day. Delivery times vary considerably with Australia Post and unfortunately there is no Express Delivery Option for wine (because it is fragile and heavy). PLEASE NOTE that we are currently seeing significant delays in the Australia Post delivery network. Strict government health and safety requirements and very high parcel volumes are causing significant backlogs at the main NSW and VIC sorting facilities. Orders are still arriving safe and sound but you may notice slower delivery times and less frequent scanning updates than usual.
