About The Wine

Adelina is on a serious roll - another ripper wine here.

Their home is in the Clare Valley and though their range is beginning to roam a little further afield, the choice of a Riesling site was a no-brainer. This vineyard in the famous Polish Hill River sub-region of the Clare was planted in 2000, with perfect soils for producing first class Riesling.

There are many reasons that PHR is the most famous region in the country for producing Riesling; the consistency and the purity of the fruit not the least of them.

This Riesling sings of its home. It's beautiful drinking, and unbeatable value.

About Adelina

Col McBryde and Jennie Gardner are Adelina.

A pair of smart cookies, each rocking a PhD in microbiology and between them some pretty serious winemaking chops. Together, they have formed one of the Clare Valley’s most exciting wineries. From what was a small operation that began in 2002, slowly but surely the Adelina brand has been picking up steam.

There is a delicacy and purity inherent in every wine they produce. From opulent old vine Shiraz and Mataro, to one of the country’s most excellent Nebbiolo and a set of scintillating Rieslings, there is a sense of class and refinement to the whole project.

These meticulously crafted, beautifully presented wines are just a joy to drink.

Critic Reviews

DDS review

Laser focus, here. Tight, steely, lemon/lime with a granny smith apple crunch. An iron bar of acidity holds the wine firm. It's classic Polish Hill. Lean and mean and with a big future ahead. Great value, too. - Different Drop Wine Team

94Points
The Wine Front

"Subtle cinnamon and spice overlay over green apple and lemon. Tingly and racy style, plenty of crunch and mouth-watering acidity, a fine flinty texture, lean but not without flavour, and a grip and sour-fruited finish of fine length. Good energy. Brisk, yet tasty." - Gary Walsh (The Wine Front)

Adelina rieslings

These are fantastic value SA rieslings. I first picked up on them after a glowing review by Mike Bernie who really is the leading Riesling critic in Aus at present IMO. If possible given them a few years to develop and they’re repay your patience in spades.

FaQs
Do I have to order in dozens?

No, please mix it up! You can order wines in any quantity and variation you like. You can order 1 bottle or 50. We challenge you to make the ultimate mixed pack of wine!

Are there volume discounts?

No our pricing is aiming to the best in the market already. For very large orders (weddings etc) we are open to negotiating though. Just give us a call. How does the price match work?

Everyday Low & Consistent Pricing is something we strongly believe in. We want our customers to feel confident they are always getting the best price. If you see a price lower somewhere else let us know and we'll match it. We'll even retrospectively refund you if you have already purchased from us but you see a lower price somewhere later on. Our price match policy can be seen here.

I am trying to add more of a wine to my cart but it won’t let me?

This means we are running low on stock of that wine. So for example, if the website will only allow you to add 3 bottles and no more, then that is all we have of that particular wine. The good news is we may be able to order more for you. Just contact us on 1300 668 385 or hello@differentdrop.com and we'll organise the additional quantity for you.

Does Different Drop have a physical store?

No, not really. More of a warehouse/office. We do however offer a Click & Collect option from our warehouse in Ultimo, Sydney. Our warehouse address for Click & Collect is: F5A, 42 Wattle St, Ultimo, 2007

Can I special order a wine you do not sell?

If it’s doable, then we’ll make it happen. Just contact us directly via phone, chat or email and we’ll find out for you right away. Please note that in most cases special orders such as these will need to be in full case lots (6 or 12 bottles).
