About The Wine
Bryan Martin continues to eke out some of the most interesting wines that NSW has to offer.
This is his fourth crack at the Ravensworth Gamay Noir. Surprise, surprise, it is a belter. When a Tumbarumba grower called him up in 2015 with some fruit on offer, Martin jumped at the chance. And since the epic success of the first release, a wine that James Halliday said, "No gamay has previously been made equal to this in Australia", Martin has only refined his stylings further with this much-loved variety.
This falls under the Ravensworth heading of 'weird stuff'. It's definitely left of center but boy is it dangerously glugable.
If you're looking for something bright and fun to drink over summer, this is going to thrill you to bits!
Bryan Martin is a winemaker at the height of his powers. Setting aside the exceptional work he is doing behind the scenes at regional flagbearer, Clonakilla, his Ravensworth wines have become some of the Canberra region’s hottest releases.
Bryan’s winemaking style is equal parts science and artistic flair. He’s an adventurous spirit trapped in the body of a technical virtuoso. A concert pianist jamming to free jazz. It’s a killer combination.
His range is full of alternative varieties and whacky blends, with texture and balance the key in everything. These are unique wines from a region on the up and up and now some of Canberra’s most sought-after wines.
