A contender for Australia's most insane blend here from the hands of Jared Dixon.
This is a field blend of twelve varieties picked and fermented wild as whole bunches. To see the likes of Nebbiolo, Pinotage, and Touriga working in tandem with Gewurztraminer and Petit Menseng is something you don't see every day.
It's an effort from Jared to showcase this special New England vineyard as it appeared in vintage 2018. A wild and untamed wine where all matter of curious and wonderful things emerge from the glass.
It's enthralling drinking. This is one for the curious wine lover, the true explorer of all things vinous. Only 400 bottles made.
About Jilly Wines
Jared Dixon is a lone ranger on his own mission in the New England wine region.
His wines are made from interesting varieties grown on unique vineyards, sites he classes as ‘undiscovered gems.’ His winemaking is extremely hands-off, allowing the full expression of the fruit to be the focus of every wine.
They are fun, don't take themselves too seriously and have a distinct energy about them.
Jared is one of Northern NSW's most exciting and impassioned young winemakers. Where he takes his idiosyncratic label from here is anyone's guess.
