About The Wine
Much-needed rain in spring, a hot, dry summer, and a cool March for vintage, the conditions were pretty perfect for making top end Barossa Shiraz, and the 2018 Izway Bruce Shiraz is proof enough.
Shows a rich, sinister darkness on the nose, full of black fruits and mocha. Concentrated dark chocolate, tar and licorice on the palate, which is nonetheless surprisingly elegant and slender, as the vintage retained some acidity and drive.
About Izway Wines
The Izway wines were started a partnership between Brian Conway and Craig Isbel.
These two Barossa Valley diehards have been making outstanding Barossa red wines from great vineyards since 2003. Craig has now taken the solo reigns of the business since leaving his job as Head Winemaker at Barossa juggernaut, Torbreck in 2017.
They honour their families in the naming of each wine, characters like Bruce, Harold and Don populating the range.
These are quintessential Barossa Valley wines - deep, dark and brooding, powerful and polished. With one nod towards tradition and one towards the future, Barossa Valley lovers should be all over these wines.
