About The Wine
Gareth Belton is on the cutting edge of the natural winemaking movement. From the soil to the glass, every effort is taken by him and wife Rainbo to preserve the natural vitality of his organically grown fruit.
Here there's no sulphur, no additives, no fining. This is as un-doctored wine gets and it's a great thing to drink.
The Vin de Sofa is a pun on the French wine term Vin de Soif - "Soif means thirsty, sofa means chill". A wine of refreshment to drink anytime (sofa not necessary).
It's made from mainly whole bunch Pinot Noir and Cabernet Franc with a dash of Gewürztraminer. Take Gareth's advice and pop this in the fridge for half an hour before drinking, it really comes to life with a chill. This fun, creative wine should be enjoyed with friends in the sun.
About Gentle Folk
Deep in the rolling vineyards of the Basket Range in the Adelaide Hills lives Gareth and Rainbo Belton.
They are two of the country's leading experts in seaweed who caught the wine bug a few years ago and now run a winery making small batches of fun and creative wines with their friends in the Basket range.
Gareth farms their three vineyards himself. He works organically in the vineyard and with little to no additions in the winery. The Gentle Folk wines have an energy and style all their own.
Made for drinking with friends and family, these are clean, unpretentious and delicious wines built for fun times. Get involved and be Gentle with each other.
