About The Wine

The Wickhams Road range is widely regarded as some of Australia's best value vino.

Made by the perennial bargain Yarra producer, Hoddles Creek Estate, these wines hugely over deliver in the bang for you buck department.

Described by Mike Bennie as "One of the great Australian wine bargains, and again finds quality in spades.", the Yarra Valley Pinot Noir might be the best buy/most sought after of all the releases. If you drink Pinot, this should be your sub $20 mid-week staple. The 2017 vintage was near perfect for Franco and the Hoddles Creek crew. This is just the first of his epic Pinot releases. It won't be around for long. This is a case buy, pure and simple.

Critic Reviews

Halliday Wine Companion

"Seduction doesn't muck around. This combines fruit sweetness (not sugar) and classic undergrowth characters to such good effect that - as you double-check the price, because it can't be right - before you know it you'll be ordering a second bottle or indeed case. Cherries, spice, tang, ample overall complexity and yet so easy to drink. Tannin then just taps it all gently into line." - James Halliday (Halliday Wine Companion)

The Wine Front

"One of the great Australian wine bargains, and again finds quality in spades. Pre-release look at this wine (and saw it in various components in the winery), so stay tuned for offers, I assume. Clever mob at Wickhams/Hoddles Creek Estate. Also, some very good golf driving skills. The day I played at the estate vineyard driving range, the dark horse wasn’t a winemaker, but chef David Moyle of Franklin, Tasmania/Longsong, Melbourne fame. Hit a huge, clean one. Fore! Rosy, cherry pip kick off with lashings of the come hither sweetness and spice you could ask for from pinot noir. Juiciness in the palate but with a fine smudge of silty tannin, bright acidity, an inherent deliciousness and wild drinkability. Light and flavoursome, fresh and bouncy stuff here. Again, it’s such good drinking." - Mike Bennie (The Wine Front)
