This has to be one of the most beautiful vineyards in Australia cascading down a magical slope that faces mountains and clouds.
About The Wine
This is a single vineyard Chardonnay from vivacious Victorian farmer and winemaker Pat Sullivan.
It's made with no new oak, no alterations in the winery, just the pristine hand-picked fruit off the Meriz block, pressed to old French puncheons and left to do its own thing.
This is a textural, savoury style of Chardonnay with great mouthfeel and a slight wild-streak,
This is a throughly delicious Chardonnay that sets off at a cracking pace. Stocks on this wine are limited.
About Patrick Sullivan
The wild-haired Patrick Sullivan is a farmer first, winemaker second.
His pride and joy is his vineyard in the Strezleki Ranges in the Gippsland G.I. of Victoria. On this plot of land, Pat farms with organic principals alongside Bill Downie, one of the most revolutionary winemakers of his generation.
Bill takes the Pinot Noir from the vineyard, Pat takes the Chardonnay and a few other bits and pieces. The wines are un-tinkered with, fermented in neutral vessels with little or no sulphur and are made to express their special site and the vagaries of vintage.
In Pat's words, "The wines are inspired by emotion, a moment in time and a sense of place."
