Here’s a young winemaker who’s hitting high notes.
About The Wine
The Frederick Stevenson project was started as a covert operation, an underground label from Steve Crawford who has a day job at a much bigger, fancy winery. The Vine Vale was his first experiment.
This is not your average, run of the mill Barossa Grenache, this is a little sexed up and more than a little funky. The fruit is from a biodynamic vineyard in the Barossa sporting some gnarly old vines, lo-fi hands off winemaking, whole bunches, a mashup of separate ferments.
No frills but plenty of thrills. The 2017 wine looks excellent. With 92 points from Mike Bennie, and with only 100 cases produced is a must try for the more adventurous Barossa Valley and/or Grenache fan.
