About The Wine
The Woods Crampton Eden Valley Shiraz is the more elegant brother of their hugely popular Barossa Shiraz.
The 2016 vintage is a great representation of the power and richness that can be achieved in the Eden without the overblown fruit that you often find more in some other SA regions.
The fruit for this wine is hand selected from a single block in Eden Valley. It's a very good rendition of Shiraz that this vineyard produces.
Unfined and with minimum filtration, this really is vine to glass kind of stuff. The sub $30 price tag belies the seriousness and potential for this great Shiraz.
About Woods Crampton
Woods Crampton is an energetic brand quickly making a big name for themselves out of the Barossa Valley.
Essentially a two-man operation, their range is a mix of traditional Barossa and some obscure Mediterranean varieties. The wines are full-flavoured but beautifully balanced.
And the value is always extremely high.
In Woods Crampton you see a modern approach to a historic region.
