About The Wine
An exciting new release from the Bondars here. The first release of a premium Shiraz from their famous Rayner vineyard.
Winemaker Andre Bondar has had an eye on making a small amount of a premium Shiraz from this block for a while. The perfect ripening conditions in 2016 allowed for a fuller bodied style of Shiraz - one barrel stood head and shoulders above the rest. This was his chance to pull the trigger and set this wine aside.
Yes, this is a 'bigger' wine than the Violet Hour, but it's also much more complex and cellar-worthy.
McLaren Vale through and through. A great addition to the already awesome Bondar range.
Bondar is the baby of husband-and-wife team Andre Bondar and Selina Kelly, and winners of the 2017 Australian Wine Companion’s Best New Winery.
They have purchased the famous Rayner vineyard in McLaren Vale, crafting stunning Shiraz and Grenache from here, along with beautifully pure Adelaide Hills Chardonnay. I’ll leave it to them to describe what their extremely exciting venture is all about: “Our vision has always been to make wines that create a little intrigue, that are a little different. We want to make wines that are bright, structured, mid-weight yet concentrated in flavour with a savoury element.”
Super value, tiny production and delicious to drink!
