About The Wine
This is a new flagship wine that sits at the top of the tree from Eleana Anderson at Mayford Wines in Porepunkah.
This unusual blend captures the essence of this special pint-sized vineyard. The Cabernet component for this wine comes from vines planted at Mayford back in 2011, this is their first chance to shine and shine they do!
The other portion of the blend is made up of the famous Mayford Tempranillo, one of the country's leading examples of the variety.
This is not a big wine but it has plenty of horsepower under the hood. Inwardly concentrated, beautifully balanced, it's a heroic release from the charming boutique wine producer.
Campbell Mattinson rated it 95 points and there were only 70 dozen made.
Mayford has been a work in progress since 1995, now they are one of the leading producers in the Alpine Valley.
Setting the bar high, are Eleana Anderson and Bryan Nicholson. Very high indeed.
They only produce only a small range of wines including Chardonnay, Shiraz, and one of the country’s best Tempranillo. Everything is grown on their own estate. From the vine to the bottle, this couple does it all themselves.
Small batches of wine with only quality in mind.
A jewel in the crown for the Alpine Valleys and Porepunkah region.
