About The Wine
Brett Grocke is a 'vines first' kind of winemaker. He dedicates the vast majority of his time personally tending to each vine in his 14 vineyard portfolio.
It's a labour of love which shows in the quality of his wines. This Grenache lead blend is a powerhouse. It is guided by Brett's meticulous knowledge of the Barossa region.
He uses Grenache from his estate vineyard in Krondorff and Mataro from the sandy Hoffman block in Ebenezer. The synergy between these varieties is amazing. This wine encapsulates the heart of the Barossa. Quality vines and little intervention from the winemaker leading to a sensuous and opulent red.
Eperosa is Brett Grocke's heart and soul.
Grocke is a fifth generation born and raised Barossa viticulturalist/winemaker. Eperosa is the vessel through which he tells the stories of the small patches of the Barossa which he has cared for his whole life. He works with long-established vineyards planted on ancient soils and channels the regional warmth, richness and power of the Barossa with a deft artist's touch.
These wines are honest, robust and made with minimal intervention. A true representation of the modern Barossa with old vines and a rich family heritage as the backdrop.
Grocke's star is on the rise, being named James Halliday's Winemaker of the Year for 2021.
