- The Home of Artisan Australian Wine!
Jared Dixon is the Lone Ranger of New England wine. Out on the wild frontier of NSW wine, striving to make interesting, idiosyncratic wines that will tale the tale of his region.
His hands-off approach works wonders with this Sauvignon Blanc. It’s fermented naturally in barrel giving the fruit an extra gear to kick into when driving through the mouth.
As far as benchmark examples of naturally made Sauvignon Blanc goes, this is one of the classiest in the country. Complexity and power with freshness in toe.
As Mike Bennie said in his 93 point review in this wine, Jared’s name “should be in lights.”, if these releases are any indicator, it soon will be.
What It Tastes Like
“It’s a medium weight, textural, fiercely delicious sauvignon blanc, heady with its fennel and anise characters, suggestions of green herbs, punchy passionfruit and pineapple fruitiness. The waxy pear skin-textured palate offers more of that anise and fennel stuff, almost piquant in its juicy, sweet-savoury hit and finishes with a light rasp of broken chalk texture. I could bang on…” - Mike Bennie (The Wine Front)
93 points. “In some respects Jared Dixon is a lone ranger. A one man natural wine project based out of Clunes in New England, NSW, not a lot of stimuli in terms of winemaker peers on the same level in the region, working hard with small batch releases, interesting styles, expressive winemaking, mostly under the radar. Having worked through his range of wines over this week and past, his name should be in lights. There are some fantastic wines from him. Hi ho Silver! This is sauvignon blanc that is naturally fermented, barrel fermented. I suspect it isn’t filtered before bottling too.

About the Producer
Jared Dixon is a lone ranger on his own mission in the New England wine region. His wines are made from interesting varieties grown on unique vineyards, sites he classes as ‘undiscovered gems.’ His winemaking is extremely hands off, allowing the full expression of the fruit to be the focus of every wine. The wines are fun and have a distinct energy about them. One of Northern NSW most exciting and impassioned wine prospects, no doubt about it.
