Description

Alex Sherrah is one of the the kings of "bang for buck" in McLaren Vale, and his Fiano is the perfect evidence. It’s a bit of a rarity in the region - one of the few whites that consistently hovers around the 95-point mark while staying under $35 a bottle.

The 2025 release is all about that smart blending of two distinct sites. You’ve got fruit from the coastal Tatachilla sands bringing a punchy sea-spray crunch, while the older limestone soils of Seaview add a bit of internal muscle and depth.

Half the fruit goes into tank for freshness, the other half into old oak for a bit of leesy "chew".  It’s lifted and zesty with lemon peel, white flowers, and a distinct salty edge. It moves with great drive and has a moreish, textured finish that punches way above its price tag. If you’re looking for a great all-rounder white that doesn't overthink it, this is a total winner.

"This is a fine follow-up to the excellent 2024, a wine of intense flavour, quiet detail, texture, freshness and engaging drinkability. It’s undemanding in a way, but that’s the charm – calm, confident making, everything in harmony. Golden and red apples, lime pith, sea spray, a little oyster shell, the palate subtly chewy, pithy and resolutely refreshing."
- Marcus Ellis (Halliday Wine Companion)

95 points - "From two vineyards owned by the Lacey family, one in Tatachilla and the other Seaview. Both have a limestone base, with the Tatachilla site lower lying and closer to the sea. Cool tank fermentation for half the juice, with the other half wild fermented in seasoned oak. Fiano comes from two distinct vineyards owned by the Laceys. One in the Tatachilla sub region of southern McLaren Vale. Only a few kilometres from the sea and almost at sea level, it is a cool maritime influenced area of the Vale. Sandy loam over a limestone base, scattered with ironstone fragments. The other in the Seaview sub region, more northern, inland and elevated sitting on ancient 700 million year old limestone. Grapes were machine harvested using a selectiv® harvester that destems as it picks delivering whole berries to the winery, these were tipped straight into a press. Cool slow tank fermentation was carried out with half the juice, while the other half was wild fermented in seasoned oak. Matured on lees for 4 months prior to bottling. No acid additions, no fining.

No, feel free to mix it up! There is no minimum requirement. You can order wines in any quantity or combination, 1 or 50+ bottles.

No, all prices are set at the full discounted dozen rate already.

Most wine retailers list at a single-bottle price and then discount 10–15% when you buy six or twelve. We've taken the opposite approach. Since the overwhelming majority of our orders are already 6 bottles or more, our list price is set for the case buyer from the start. There's no inflated single-bottle price to discount down from.

What that means for you:

- One price, same for everyone — no minimum to hit to unlock the best rate
- No mixed-six gymnastics to qualify for a discount
- Our single-bottle price is typically at or below a traditional retailer's by-the-dozen rate

Put simply: the box discount is already baked into the price.

**And if you find it cheaper elsewhere?** Let us know. If the same wine is available at a lower price at another retailer (including at their mixed-six or by-the-dozen rate) we're happy to match it.

If you can't add more wine to your cart it means we are low on stock of that wine. For example, if you are only able to 3 bottles and no more that means we only have 3 bottles left of that wine. If it's a must have, please contact us and we may be able to order more in for you.
