Description

”There is serious history and intent behind these wines, but we didn’t want the range itself to feel too serious.”
- Sarah Crowe (Warramate Winemaker)

Good Yarra Pinot at a sensible price is always welcome, and Warramate’s 2025 delivers. Sarah Crowe and the Yarra Yering team are behind this gold-medal release, giving the label’s relaunch another strong result.

Four Pinot clones contribute to the blend, with parcels fermented separately using different proportions of whole bunches. The final wine has 50% whole-bunch inclusion and just 10% new oak, building savoury detail around the fruit.

Cherry and blackberry come with violets, spice and dried herbs. It’s juicy and silky, with fine, persistent tannins and bright acidity giving the generous fruit some grip. There’s plenty to enjoy straight away, with another four to five years of development ahead.

It's not life-changing but it's one of the best Yarra Pinot buys around.

Gold Medal - Yarra Valley Wine Show

96 points - "Made with 50% whole bunches, 10% new oak. An exuberant crimson purple. Leaps out the glass with exuberant aromas of red and black fruits, Indian spice and dark rose. The palate is medium bodied, juicy fruited and quite delicious straight out of the gate. There's enough tannin and bright acidity, though, to ensure this will only get better over the next four to six years. A bargain at this price." - Philip Rich (Halliday Wine Companion)

93 points - "This isn’t really my style of pinot, on paper, in that’s it’s a bit more macerated and less fruit-forward than I usually prefer. And yet I like this wine quite a lot. It carries ample twig and herb notes, traces of mineral, a bit of mint and a satisfying pour of dry, brooding, cherry-plum fruit. It’s perfectly turned out, and lovely to drink. A touch of reduction doesn’t ‘t hurt matters either." - Campbell Mattinson (The Wine Front)

91 points - "Bright colour of good depth and hue, the aromas of cherry, cola and herb tonic suggest perfectly ripe fruit with some whole-bunch ferment; the wine is light-medium in weight with lovely spectrum of flavours and good intensity, silky-smooth tannins and great drinkability. Good value." - Huon Hooke (The Real Review)

Customer Reviews

VINES

Drawn from selected blocks across the vineyard and blended from Pommard, 943, Abel and MV6 clones. Each contributes its own character, bringing together vibrant fruit, aromatic lift, texture and structure.

WINEmaking

Fermented in small batches with varying levels of whole bunch inclusion, from none to 100%, adding layers and lift to the final wine. Hand plunged throughout fermentation before gentle pressing and gravity transfer to a combination of 300L hogsheads and 228L barriques. Malolactic fermentation was completed before winter in the cool underground cellar.

WINE

Heady aromas of cherry, blackberry, vanilla and violet florals lead into a glossy, silky palate. Generous fruit is balanced by savoury complexity from whole bunch inclusion, helping to temper the richness while adding lift and structure. Fine but persistent tannins provide shape and length, carrying the wine through a long, balanced finish.

cellaring

Made to be enjoyed young and bright, this Pinot Noir is drinking beautifully now and will continue to evolve with careful cellaring for up to five years

No, feel free to mix it up! There is no minimum requirement. You can order wines in any quantity or combination, 1 or 50+ bottles.

No, all prices are set at the full discounted dozen rate already.

Most wine retailers list at a single-bottle price and then discount 10–15% when you buy six or twelve. We've taken the opposite approach. Since the overwhelming majority of our orders are already 6 bottles or more, our list price is set for the case buyer from the start. There's no inflated single-bottle price to discount down from.

What that means for you:

- One price, same for everyone — no minimum to hit to unlock the best rate
- No mixed-six gymnastics to qualify for a discount
- Our single-bottle price is typically at or below a traditional retailer's by-the-dozen rate

Put simply: the box discount is already baked into the price.

**And if you find it cheaper elsewhere?** Let us know. If the same wine is available at a lower price at another retailer (including at their mixed-six or by-the-dozen rate) we're happy to match it.

If you can't add more wine to your cart it means we are low on stock of that wine. For example, if you are only able to 3 bottles and no more that means we only have 3 bottles left of that wine. If it's a must have, please contact us and we may be able to order more in for you.
