Dicey Wines is a family affair, with brothers Matt (winemaker) and James (grower) Dicey working together to craft elegant wines from Bannockburn in Central Otago.
All wines are estate-grown from their family vineyards; the Inlet, owned by James, Black Rabbit, tended by Matt, and Swansong owned by their parents. The vineyards are farmed sustainably, and are currently in conversion to BioGro certified organic - the 2022 vintage will be the first certified release.
In the winery, they follow the same sustainable and minimal intervention philosophy; natural ferments, minimal handling, and no fining of the finished wines.
Having established themselves with Mt Difficulty, this project is the realisation of the family’s dream to have full control over their work and place primary focus on quality over quantity.
