Description

The Dicey brothers have a knack for making wines that speak clearly of Bannockburn – detailed, balanced and refreshingly unforced – and this Chenin carries that same DNA.

The 2024–25 season started early with warm, dry conditions and no frost pressure. Rain was scarce, wind kept the vines in check, and while crops were a touch higher than usual, the fruit came in clean and full of flavour.

Picked late, whole-bunch pressed and fermented warm on full solids with indigenous yeast, the ferment stopped naturally with about 28 g/L of residual sugar.

It’s off-dry but tight, showing citrus, pear and gentle honey notes with a clean, mineral finish. Straightforward, quietly distinctive, and a great example of how well Chenin fits into the Bannockburn landscape.

Viticulture
A warm start to the season kicked the vines into gear early. Frosts were avoided, and spring was warm. Minimal rain fell, with some wind, and conditions remained dry from mid-December through late March. January brought lovely warmth, tapering off in February. Crop levels were slightly higher than normal, making 2024 a tricky but generally warm season.

Winemaking
The fruit was harvested late in the season, as is typical for Chenin Blanc. Whole-bunch pressed and fermented warm on full solids using indigenous yeast. Fermentation stopped naturally with approximately 28 g/L of residual sugar. Bottled unfined and filtered in July 2024.
