2022 Standish Wine Co The Lamella Shiraz
This is Eden Valley Shiraz in full flight.
Grown by the Angas family on Hutton Vale Farm, a place their family has tended now for generations, Dan Standish has taken their fruit to a new stratosphere.
The Lamella is a transcendent Shiraz. An imperious wine of incredible density and purity, a feeling of elegance maintained through careful and sensitive winemaking. This vintage has been bolstered by two barrels from the famed Stonegarden vineyard which has taken the 2022 to another level. If you have never had your mind blown by an Eden Valley Shiraz, this may be the wine to do it.
A wine that could stand toe-to-toe with any of the most iconic names in Australian Shiraz, this is about as good as Shiraz gets from this part of the world.

"This is the most alluring Lamella I can recall ever tasting on release, despite many previous releases' flirtation with perfection." - Erin Larkin (The Wine Advocate)"

"Its fruit is sleek and polished, its line graceful, with an underlying sense of latent power, tannins uber-fine and compact, and there's a quartz-like clarity to its acidity as it propels the wine onwards. Give this one a good decant and pop a few bottles away."
- Dave Brookes (Halliday Wine Companion)
NV Sami-Odi Little Wine #13
The Sami-Odi 'Little Wine' has developed quite the cult following over the years.
It's a unique wine, being comprised of fruit from multiple vintages, with the older vintage portions adding depth and weight, the younger contributing lift and fruit vibrancy. Some parcels are picked early for acidity and drive, some picked much later providing that definitive Barossa richness.
It's an intricately constructed wine, winemaker Fraser McKinley blending multiple barrels to find just the right amount of light and shade.
The finished wine shows so much perfume, so much flavour and so much life - it's a beauty and a completely unique look at the Barossa Valley. The 'Little Wine' has become one of those innovative Australian wines you just need in your cellar.

"It sings from the glass. So bright and refreshing, it feels like one of the more ‘youthful’ or ‘energetic’ Little Wines at release, silky in texture, ultra-perfumed, red and blue berry fruited with woody spices, hazelnut, anise, alpine herbs, green pepper and green olive seamlessly woven through the bouquet and palate. Tannins are very fine, light on, brushed-satin kind of texture, and while there is intensity here, a levity, purity and scintillating freshness. Lots of detail in darker fruit, spice, mineral character, and toasty-woody notes. Utterly delicious, and a bit more raring to go."
- Mike Bennie
2022 Clonakilla Shiraz Viognier
The iconic Clonakilla Shiraz Viognier is a wine of controlled power and grace.
This elegant Cote-Rotie-inspired red is an Australian benchmark and one of the most collectable wines in the country. It's a supple wine filled with spice, fine tannins and gorgeously mouth-filling flavours. Refined, regal, impeccably polished. It's a wine that has redefined the Australian Shiraz paradigm since its inception.
If you've loved Clonakilla Shiraz Viognier in the past, you'll be smitten with this 2022 release. The quality of this wine is undeniable. It's a great wine at full stride with some of the most incredible reviews in its long, illustrious history.
It's a wine for Australia to be proud of.

2021 Yangarra Ironheart Shiraz
The Ironheart Shiraz is a blend of the best barrels from the most profound block of Shiraz on the biodynamically farmed Yangarra Estate in McLaren Vale.
Block 15, the most distinctive of the twelve blocks of Shiraz on the Yangarra vineyard, yields Shiraz fruit of immense concentration and complexity. The wine has an easy power and authority, a commanding presence and a wine built for great things in coming decades.
The fruit is rich yet balanced, the viticultural team at Yangarra mustering the regional concentration and stature of their hero variety whilst maintaining freshness and purity at the same time.
Big but beautiful is the message. A benchmark example of Shiraz from this region and now one of the most collectable in all of South Australia.

2023 Mount Pleasant 1946 Vines Rosehill Vineyard Shiraz
The Rosehill vineyard was planted by Maurice O'Shea in 1946 with cuttings from the 1880 Old Hill vineyard, so this is Hunter heritage writ large. This single site has a great track record of aromatic, long-lived Shiraz that are suggestive rather bombastic, with bright red fruits and great purity.
The Rosehill Vineyard has a remarkable reputation for producing aromatic, long-lived Shiraz. About 20% whole bunch fermentation lends this wine a delicate concentration, and it’s matured in French oak—some new—for just over a year. The result is a Shiraz that is light-footed, gently tannic, and poised to become silkier with age.
Deep purple colour with crimson hues, the nose is a vibrant mix of fresh dark red fruits, spice, and the unique violet notes that are a hallmark of the Rosehill Vineyard. On the palate, this Shiraz is intense and structural, yet classically medium-bodied with lovely acidity and impressive length.
A tip of the cap to the legacy of Maurice O'Shea and the unique terroir of this historic site.

"Lithe and bright fruit characters, more red berry orientated, still holds earthiness and woody spices, an almost alpine herb element in the mix, some sarsaparilla sweet-bitterness and a swish of drying, chewy, fruit tannins to finish. A kind of levity here, vivid and shimmery fruit and spice, a lift and almost floral nature to the wine. Exceptional tannin and structure and freshness."
- Mike Bennie (The Wine Front)
2022 Serrat Shiraz Viognier
From the hands of Tom and Nadège Carson comes superstar Victorian winery, Serrat.
Tom is one of the country's most respected wine minds. He has been one of the most formidable winemakers in Victoria since 1996. Now with his small, Burgundian-inspired private label, Serrat, picking up incredible accolades all over the country, the wines are in incredibly high demand.
The Serrat Shiraz Viognier, from their intensely close-planted vineyard just outside Yarra Glen, is modelled off the great wines of Cote Rotie.
Finely boned but intensely powerful, this is rapidly becoming one of the country's finest and collectable examples of the Shiraz Viognier blend.

"Concentrated yet balanced, you'll find aromas of blue and dark fruits, violets, incense and sweet spices such as clove and cinnamon. A gorgeous mouthful, this is powerful and structured but without any sense of heaviness. Australian shiraz viognier (or shiraz, for that matter) doesn't get much better than this. It's pretty much a steal at this price, too."
- Philip Rich (Halliday Wine Companion)

Ordering
We want Different Drop customers to always be getting the best price. If you see a lower price elsewhere, just get in touch and we will sort it out for you. We handle all our price-matching on a case by case basis.
Some things to keep in mind:
- Retrospective price-matching is available for 30 days after you have purchased from us.
- The price match cannot be used in conjunction with a coupon or one-off deal we are offering. The idea is for you to get the best price in the market so if that is already achieved through a coupon then we won't price match on top of that.
- We don't price match clearance or fire sales.
- We’ll match the listed price as long as it is a legitimate offer and the competing store is actually able to fulfil the order (they have stock or more stock is en route). Essentially we won't price match cheeky vendors listing wines they have no hope of actually getting for you...
- It must be a publicly listed price. We won't match a price that has been achieved through a coupon/cash-back arrangement, or through a non-advertised offer over the phone or otherwise.
- It is limited to a reasonable retail quantity.
We'll treat each price match request on its merit and reserve the right to refuse where we deem fit. For example, particularly rare wines, from non-trust-worthy vendors, in circumstances we deem illegitimate or if we feel our policy is being unfairly taken advantage of.
At the end of the day, we'll look after you and use common sense to ensure you're getting the best price, please just don't take the p%$$!
No, feel free to mix it up! There is no minimum requirement. You can order wines in any quantity or combination, 1 or 50+ bottles.
We stock three different sized gift boxes (single, three bottle and six), all are available for purchase for a flat rate of $8. They look great and make an awesome impression.
To add a gift box to your order, simply add at checkout. The special requests box is your friend, please give us as many details of what you are looking for and we will try our best, or get in contact to discuss it with you.
If you want to bulk order gifts or if you have any trouble please email hello@differentdrop.com or call and we can try and help.
If you can't add more wine to your cart it means we are low on stock of that wine. For example, if you are only able to 3 bottles and no more that means we only have 3 bottles left of that wine. If it's a must have, please contact us and we may be able to order more in for you.
