Cesar Marquez
César Márquez has moved from "rising star" to a definitive leader of the Spanish wine scene. While he cut his teeth alongside his legendary uncle, Raúl Pérez, César’s own project is a singular mission to map the diverse terroirs of Bierzo with the obsessive detail of the Côte d’Or. It is a vision that earned him the title of Tim Atkin’s 2025 Bierzo Winemaker of the Year.
His approach is built on "vertical" tension and transparency. Working with centenary vines - some over 140 years old - César vinifies each tiny parcel separately to protect the distinct voice of the site. From iron-rich clays to rare high-altitude limestone, his wines are celebrated for their "crunchy" fruit and incredible mineral drive.
