About the Wine
When it comes to French sparkling wine, the Burgundy region is always overshadowed by Champagne. However, Burgundy is capable of producing some incredibly nice sparkling wines, usually at prices that are far less than you would pay for a champagne of comparable quality.
The NV Domaine Olivier Morin Tentations Cremant de Bourgogne is made in the traditional method used in Champagne. While not officially certified, the vineyard is farmed using organic practices, to focus on the purity of fruit.
With its ripe Pinot Noir and Chardonnay fruit, there are lovely aromas and flavours of stone fruits, orange blossom and yeasty notes, with great minerality. Pop it open with some seafood, ham or a salad, or just enjoy it by itself.
About Domaine Olivier Morin
After originally starting a career in music, Olivier Morin took over his family's winemaking business in 1992. The family had been in the wine trade since the 17th century, in the small Burgundian town of Chitry.
With his wife Nelly, Olivier crafts wines from land which is only a stone's throw away from Chablis, home to some amazing Chardonnay-based wines. While not certified organic, they endeavour to farm by these practices as much as possible.
Domaine Olivier Morin focuses on reds from Pinot Noir, whites from Chardonnay and Aligote, as well as sparkling wines (Cremant de Bourgogne) from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The wines always show amazing value and Olivier and Nelly's dedication to the grape.
