Description

Jérôme Prévost’s 'Fac-simile' is the ultimate unicorn-status Rosé. It’s essentially a "carbon copy" of Les Béguines, but with the addition of about 10% still red wine made from a specific corner of the vineyard. This tiny parcel is infected with court-noué (fanleaf virus), which naturally stunts the vines and produces tiny, intensely concentrated berries. It’s a rare bird - only 54 bottles made it into the country this year - and it consistently manages to surpass the massive hype that surrounds it.

The 2023 base (LC23) marks a return to a more delicate, high-toned profile. After the brawnier, sun-drenched vintages we’ve seen recently, this release feels more overtly classical and fine-boned. It’s got a beautiful, pale luminosity in the glass and leads with haunting notes of rose petal, mulberry, and wild strawberry. Because Jérôme kept the dosage low at 2.5 g/L, the wine is driven by a vital crunch and that signature Gueux chalkiness rather than simple fruit weight.

On the palate, it’s exceptionally long and vinous, showing a sophisticated, silken texture held together by a strong and nicely defined structural grip. It’s a wine that really demands a Burgundy glass and a bit of air to show its full range of spice and floral detail.

While it’s drinking with incredible energy right now, there's a serious core of tension here that suggests it will only get better as it hits its stride in the cellar. A profound, soulful Rosé Champagne from a master of the craft.

54 bottles. This rare rosé was made for the first time from the 2007 vintage. This cuvée is base 2023 with 20% reserve wines and includes 10% red wine made from the Meunier fruit of the same vineyard. To be specific, the grapes for the red wine come from a small parcel of Les Béguines that is prone to court-noué (fanleaf virus). This virus stunts vigour and gives tiny yields of concentrated bunches and berries that ripen quickly.

Cult wines don’t always live up to the hype, but this bottle always surpasses even the highest expectations—we just wish we had more to share around. The dosage this year was 2.5 g/L. This is a much more delicate release than we have experienced in the past with rose and mulberry fruit notes, a fine, chalky grip and a long, perfumed close. So pretty and fine! Serve it in Burgundy glasses with food (any salmon dish is a great idea) with your closest wine friends—and watch the sparks fly. RW

No, feel free to mix it up! There is no minimum requirement. You can order wines in any quantity or combination, 1 or 50+ bottles.

No, all prices are set at the full discounted dozen rate already.

Most wine retailers list at a single-bottle price and then discount 10–15% when you buy six or twelve. We've taken the opposite approach. Since the overwhelming majority of our orders are already 6 bottles or more, our list price is set for the case buyer from the start. There's no inflated single-bottle price to discount down from.

What that means for you:

- One price, same for everyone — no minimum to hit to unlock the best rate
- No mixed-six gymnastics to qualify for a discount
- Our single-bottle price is typically at or below a traditional retailer's by-the-dozen rate

Put simply: the box discount is already baked into the price.

**And if you find it cheaper elsewhere?** Let us know. If the same wine is available at a lower price at another retailer (including at their mixed-six or by-the-dozen rate) we're happy to match it.

If you can't add more wine to your cart it means we are low on stock of that wine. For example, if you are only able to 3 bottles and no more that means we only have 3 bottles left of that wine. If it's a must have, please contact us and we may be able to order more in for you.
