Description

Sébastien Christophe came from nowhere, literally. Raised in a family of cereal growers in Fyé, he came home from training in Beaune at 23 to just 0.6 hectares of vines his grandfather had planted in the 1960s, mostly humble Petit Chablis that hardly anyone else bothered to farm. Since 1999 he's built one of the most respected small domaines in Chablis, one lease and one purchase at a time.

This Petit Chablis comes from parcels close to his winery on the plateau above the Grand Cru slope and the great Montée de Tonnerre. The secret isn't cellar trickery. He works overwhelmingly in stainless steel like most of Chablis, and the difference is in the vineyard: reading the soils parcel by parcel, keeping yields low and farming under organic conversion.

Expect the classic Chablis run of lemon, green apple and white fruit, with a fine mineral drive and a salty tang on the finish.

The wines of Christophe are some of our most popular Chablis, and this is his most approachable version. It's proof he can make outstanding wine at every level of the appellation, and it doesn't hang around for long.

Chablis, about midway between Beaune and Paris, possesses the cool continental climate and fossil-strewn limestone soils that imbue Chardonnay with unique traits not found in any other Chardonnay wines - the portlandian limestone soils in Petit Chablis provide for wines of bracing refreshment while bearing the mark of the terroir: notes of lime, seashells, white flowers, iodine and an energizing acidity that stings the palate.

This Petit Chablis comes from a few parcels near his winery located on the plateau that sits just above the Grand Cru slope and the great vineyard, Montée de Tonnerre. This wine is exceptional every year and quite frankly I have yet to taste a better Petit Chablis - the 2025 vintage in Chablis has again produced wines with a nice tight crispness and good verve (12.5% alc) - this always has great zest and drive!

No, feel free to mix it up! There is no minimum requirement. You can order wines in any quantity or combination, 1 or 50+ bottles.

No, all prices are set at the full discounted dozen rate already.

Most wine retailers list at a single-bottle price and then discount 10–15% when you buy six or twelve. We've taken the opposite approach. Since the overwhelming majority of our orders are already 6 bottles or more, our list price is set for the case buyer from the start. There's no inflated single-bottle price to discount down from.

What that means for you:

- One price, same for everyone — no minimum to hit to unlock the best rate
- No mixed-six gymnastics to qualify for a discount
- Our single-bottle price is typically at or below a traditional retailer's by-the-dozen rate

Put simply: the box discount is already baked into the price.

**And if you find it cheaper elsewhere?** Let us know. If the same wine is available at a lower price at another retailer (including at their mixed-six or by-the-dozen rate) we're happy to match it.

If you can't add more wine to your cart it means we are low on stock of that wine. For example, if you are only able to 3 bottles and no more that means we only have 3 bottles left of that wine. If it's a must have, please contact us and we may be able to order more in for you.
