Description

The 2024 Albi is Mora’s second release of this distinctive white Pinot Noir – essentially a rosé in spirit, but made with the precision and texture of a serious white wine. Crafted entirely from Pinot Noir, it’s pressed gently off skins to keep colour pale and the flavours pure.

The season brought bright, balanced fruit, giving the wine its trademark line of acidity and layered texture. It’s dry and structured, with notes of almond croissant, rhubarb and wild strawberry, lifted by a touch of savoury complexity and a faint struck-match edge.

This is not your average “pink” wine – it’s complex, textural and made with the same focus that runs through all of Mora’s releases. A smart, distinctive Central Otago expression that blurs the line between rosé and white.

93 points - "Very delicate on the nose, hinting at subtle, tangy, seashell aromas. As it warms in the glass, the pretty scents of watermelon and rose petals emerge. The palate is softly dry with a gentle creaminess to balance the driving acidity. Spice, a hint of smoke, aromatic wood and flint lead to the chalky, tapered finish where lees-enriched croissant flavours emerge. A subtle, quiet and slightly austere wine which is easy to miss currently but will expand with time in bottle." - Stephen Wong MW (The Real Review)

92 points - "A 100% pinot noir wine with delicate, palest sugar plum pink hues in the glass. There is whipped butter, strawberries and pineapple and a note of watermelon rind. Some cantaloupe and ruby grapefruit citrus. This packs remarkable fruit for its colour and finishes with some peach tea and baked salt notes on the finish. Bone dry and crisp, a mix of Pink Lady apples and subtle tropical, it’s a wine if served blindfolded the white wine drinkers and light red wine drinkers will enjoy. For me, I’d show off its glimmer in some cut crystal goblets and eat smoked salmon on blinis at any time of the day. Drink now and often." - Shanteh Wale (Wine Pilot)

The Mora Albi 2024 marks the second vintage of this distinctive white wine, crafted exclusively from Pinot Noir. Retaining its dry style, it boasts a vibrant backbone of acidity, exceptional weight, and a layered texture. Aromas of almond croissant, rhubarb, and wild strawberries intertwine with a delicate struck match and savoury nuance.

Our inspiration behind this wine is our love of Pinot Noir and wanting to craft different wine styles from the same grape variety. We wanted to acknowledge and celebrate Pinot Noir as the only wine grape variety in the world that can make premium rosé, white and red wines. Albi (Latin for white) looks like a white wine but with red wine characteristics, including mouthfeel, concentration and texture. It’s the balance between mouthfeel and freshness that makes this wine so attractive.

No, feel free to mix it up! There is no minimum requirement. You can order wines in any quantity or combination, 1 or 50+ bottles.

No, all prices are set at the full discounted dozen rate already.

Most wine retailers list at a single-bottle price and then discount 10–15% when you buy six or twelve. We've taken the opposite approach. Since the overwhelming majority of our orders are already 6 bottles or more, our list price is set for the case buyer from the start. There's no inflated single-bottle price to discount down from.

What that means for you:

- One price, same for everyone — no minimum to hit to unlock the best rate
- No mixed-six gymnastics to qualify for a discount
- Our single-bottle price is typically at or below a traditional retailer's by-the-dozen rate

Put simply: the box discount is already baked into the price.

**And if you find it cheaper elsewhere?** Let us know. If the same wine is available at a lower price at another retailer (including at their mixed-six or by-the-dozen rate) we're happy to match it.

If you can't add more wine to your cart it means we are low on stock of that wine. For example, if you are only able to 3 bottles and no more that means we only have 3 bottles left of that wine. If it's a must have, please contact us and we may be able to order more in for you.
