Description

Five generations of family winegrowing sit behind Domaine du Beauregard, now run by Stéphanie and Jérôme with a focus on bottling individual vineyard plots. La Roture is their Chardonnay from the Hautes Côtes de Beaune, drawing on vines averaging 50 years old.

The vineyard’s clay-limestone soils provide the setting for a fresh, finely structured style. Direct pressing is followed by barrel ageing, including a portion of new oak to add complexity alongside the fruit.

Apple, lemon and light floral notes lead into a lively palate with a dry, stony finish. It has enough substance for roast chicken or fish in a butter sauce, while remaining light on its feet.

Mature vines and measured oak ageing give La Roture its appeal: a fresh white Burgundy with detail and the potential to develop over the next few years if you like, but really it's just a delicious little Burgundy you can rip the top off on a school night.

LOCATION:

Located in Sampigny les Maranges, these vineyard plots are set on beautiful clay-limestone hillsides, providing the ideal terroir for producing expressive Pinot Noir.

IN THE VINEYARD:

We practice sustainable viticulture, paying close attention to the health of our soils with meticulous tillage techniques such as plowing, inter-row cultivation, and natural grass cover, alongside the use of organic amendments. We also follow lunar cycles in our vineyard practices, such as pruning, de-budding, and trimming during the waning moon, to enhance vine vitality and grape quality.

VVINEMAKING:

In the winery, we focus on bringing out the full expression of the vintage, terroir, and appellation. We limit inputs to allow the wine to reveal its authenticity, while also observing lunar influences during key processes such as racking and bottling, which takes place on a fruit day under a waning moon

AGEING:

Aged 100% in oak barrels, this wine preserves the purest expression of the fruit and the terroir

VARIETALS: Pinot Noir 100%

TASTING NOTES:

This 2023 vintage displays a vibrant ruby color with brilliant reflections. The nose is aromatic and powerful, featuring lively aromas of raspberry, strawberry, and cherry. On the palate, the wine is direct and bold, with smooth tannins and a long, balanced finish.

Domaine du Beauregard

Meeting Stéphanie and Jérôme Dépernon earlier this year, we felt an immediate connection. A sibling team farming their own vineyards and making bright, full-flavoured, honest wines, they reminded us of Australian producers we love.

Their family’s Domaine du Beauregard spans five generations. Based in Saint-Sernin-du-Plain, where the southern Côte de Beaune meets the Côtes du Couchois, they work across Maranges, the Hautes Côtes de Beaune and surrounding appellations—some of Burgundy’s last pockets of real value.

The wines are generous and warm-hearted, with vibrant fruit, proper structure and an ease that invites another glass. These are Burgundies for dinner and sharing with friends, with plenty of character but no need for a speech before pouring.

Behind them is thoughtful work: Jérôme tends the vines and makes the wines, while Stéphanie brings French and Australian experience to sharing them. A welcoming introduction to Burgundy, with plenty for established lovers too, at reasonable prices—even at premier cru level.

No, feel free to mix it up! There is no minimum requirement. You can order wines in any quantity or combination, 1 or 50+ bottles.

No, all prices are set at the full discounted dozen rate already.

Most wine retailers list at a single-bottle price and then discount 10–15% when you buy six or twelve. We've taken the opposite approach. Since the overwhelming majority of our orders are already 6 bottles or more, our list price is set for the case buyer from the start. There's no inflated single-bottle price to discount down from.

What that means for you:

- One price, same for everyone — no minimum to hit to unlock the best rate
- No mixed-six gymnastics to qualify for a discount
- Our single-bottle price is typically at or below a traditional retailer's by-the-dozen rate

Put simply: the box discount is already baked into the price.

**And if you find it cheaper elsewhere?** Let us know. If the same wine is available at a lower price at another retailer (including at their mixed-six or by-the-dozen rate) we're happy to match it.

If you can't add more wine to your cart it means we are low on stock of that wine. For example, if you are only able to 3 bottles and no more that means we only have 3 bottles left of that wine. If it's a must have, please contact us and we may be able to order more in for you.
