Description

This is an absolute steal of a wine.

It's made up of a blend of Grenache and Syrah from selected biodynamically farmed vineyards in the Rhone Valley. There's something magical about the wines from Mas de Libian, holding a sense of life and energy that is palpable. Not to mention the effortless purity that you see in the glass, too.

The name 'Bout d'Zan' refers to Helene's father, Jean-Pierre's nickname as a kid, however today it refers to the lick of liquorice that the winemakers see in the wine each year.

It's a red wine that makes you want to sit & swirl. A rosy, cherried, lighter frame Grenache blend that shows the efficacy of gentle farming and low intervention winemaking. Brilliant stuff for the dollars asked.

An excellent wine for the money

Smooth tasting, soft, fruity mid-weight blend. Excellent with everything from chick pea pancake to lamb rump.

    Young wine

This wine was ok but probably better with cellaring. I really love that a woman made this wine, which I’m big on supporting at a different Drop, but unfortunately it gave both of us a slight hangover the next day, which could be due to the natural fermentation of the wine?

    Top Cotes Du Rhone

All of the bright fruit and spicy gamay structure you expect from southern Rhone but with an unexpected level of purity and opulence in mouthfeel you would hope for from a top pinot. Very well made wine. No hint of VA, Brett or Mouse.
