Description

This is a classic Pinot Grigio with all the refreshment factor to take your lazy Sunday afternoon to the next level.

From the north east Italian region of Friuli, the heartland of the grape, it's nicely varietal with aromas of citrus, green pear, citrus and delicate spices. The mouthfeel is soft, unthreatening with enough acidity for a good long crunchy finish.

Sit back and relax with this one. Great value, classic drinking yet again from Maretti!

"This is elegantly scented on the nose with ripe nectarine, Nashi pear, lemon peel, and oatmeal nuances, leading to a beautifully layered palate offering saline texture and vibrant acidity. Harmonious and lingering with a lengthy, sleek finish. At its best: now to 2028."

91 points - "Always love seeing European wines under screw cap – it feels a bit like the Rebel Alliance is finally making inroads against Darth Vader and the Empire. A fine example of Pinot Grigio from the Friuli Grave region, which ranges between 450 and 700 metres above sea level, and which is up in Italy’s northeast, near the borders with Austria and Slovenia, the Grave part of the name comes from the gravelly soils found in the region, and not anything more morbid. This is a single vineyard wine, fermented in stainless steel and subsequently seeing six months of maturation there. A straw/gold colour, this is a slightly leaner style than many of us are used to, offering a little more elegance. This is fresh, offering river pebbles, citrus and pears, with notes of lemon curd. A supple texture, good focus and medium length combine to make this an enjoyable example. Enjoy over the next three to four years." - Ken Gargett (Wine Pilot)

Good value and good drinking

We enjoyed this. No frills Italian Pinot Grigio. Exactly what is says on the tin.

Sourced from a single vineyard high above the Tagliamento river and hand harvested in the early morning to retain natural acidity. Whole bunched pressed, aiming to limit skin contact and using only free run and first press juice. Fermented in stainless steel with temperature control before maturation on lees for six months to build texture and complexity.

No, feel free to mix it up! There is no minimum requirement. You can order wines in any quantity or combination, 1 or 50+ bottles.

No, all prices are set at the full discounted dozen rate already.

Most wine retailers list at a single-bottle price and then discount 10–15% when you buy six or twelve. We've taken the opposite approach. Since the overwhelming majority of our orders are already 6 bottles or more, our list price is set for the case buyer from the start. There's no inflated single-bottle price to discount down from.

What that means for you:

- One price, same for everyone — no minimum to hit to unlock the best rate
- No mixed-six gymnastics to qualify for a discount
- Our single-bottle price is typically at or below a traditional retailer's by-the-dozen rate

Put simply: the box discount is already baked into the price.

**And if you find it cheaper elsewhere?** Let us know. If the same wine is available at a lower price at another retailer (including at their mixed-six or by-the-dozen rate) we're happy to match it.

If you can't add more wine to your cart it means we are low on stock of that wine. For example, if you are only able to 3 bottles and no more that means we only have 3 bottles left of that wine. If it's a must have, please contact us and we may be able to order more in for you.
