Jean Foillard’s Cuvée Corcelette is a cult favourite that captures everything we love about Beaujolais: perfume, poise and pure drinkability. It comes from 80-year-old vines planted in the Morgon cru, which sits just next door to the Côte du Py but offers a distinctly different expression.
The 2023 vintage shows why Foillard is a master of this site. Expect bright red fruits, a hint of wild strawberry and cherry, alongside delicate floral notes that lift from the glass. On the palate, the wine is lively and supple with that trademark silkiness Foillard fans crave. There’s a beautiful mineral thread running through it, bringing energy and precision to every sip.
Cuvée Corcelette is always the more lithe and racy sibling to Foillard’s Côte du Py, showing the lacy, elegant side of Morgon while still delivering serious complexity. 2023’s moderate, balanced growing season only enhances that, offering freshness and focus.
A beautiful wine to enjoy now with a slight chill or tuck away for a few years of development. One of the benchmarks of modern Beaujolais, and a must-have for lovers of this region.

"The 2023 Morgon Cuvée Corcelette comes from well-drained granite soils and is aged for nine months in used barrel. It has a perfumed bouquet of incense that blossoms with aeration, as touches of brown spice infuse the red fruit. The palate is medium-bodied and transparent with finely chiselled tannins, exquisite balance and a dab of white pepper towards the sustained finish. This very classy Morgon is difficult to resist."
