It’s a beautiful wine. Such composure and energy.

About the Wine
This GSM is a special collaboration between Michael J. Corbett (Vanguardist) and Glenn Barry (Tonic Wines). It's a wine that has been a decade in the making.
This is Grenache, Shiraz and Mataro sourced from each of their favourite sites across South Australia, from the Barossa & Clare Valleys as well as McLaren Vale. The Grenache comes from Vanguardist's famous Rende Grenache block in the sandy soils of Blewitt Springs. Barry sources the Shiraz and Mataro from that contribute to his cult Tonic single varietal wines.
It's a melding of minds, regions and varieties, that represents more than just a wine. "Its something tangible that we now have that celebrates a decade of friendship and a shit tonne of pretty hilarious moments in time," Glenn Barry told us.
This is supreme drinking and it's exclusively available at Different Drop. Allocations are minuscule so get in before it's gone!
About The Collaboration
The two much-respected winemakers in cahoots for this project met for the first time in 2013, whilst working at Knappstein in the Clare Valley.
Glenn Barry and Michael J. Corbett have started their own highly sought-after labels (Tonic Wines & Vanguardist respectively) over the years since. All the while, the two have used each other as professional sounding boards on the way to developing each of their own labels. They have been friends, colleagues and the bane of many a late-night publican as closing hours approached.
A joint wine project had always been an idea between them, kicked around whilst watching the rugby or playing darts.
It wasn't until a long car ride back from Hanging Rock winery after seeing Nick Cave & Warren Ellis play live that they finally locked down the first official collab between their brands. And so, we have the first ever Vanguardist X Tonic GSM...
