Description

If you thought Pinot Gris was a white grape, then you need to try this. The Brian Gris was picked three weeks after the Pinot Noir for the Brian wines. By this point, the skins turn purple, morphing from a simple white grape to a fascinating red!

From there, the fruit spent six weeks on skins and was bottled unfined, unfiltered and with zero sulphur. This is a cloudy, funky, chewy wine that's not for the faint of heart.

This is the most utterly smashable version of the Brian Gris to date.

A little outrageous and outrageously delicious. All the things we've come to expect from the Brians.

    Brian Brand continues to Delight

The only bad thing to say about this wine is I wish we had had a bigger bottle. Another great drop from the Brian stable, the more complex flavour means it works well with food, but to be honest we loved it without as well, just the right side of dry and not too funky to freak out those still dipping their toes into the water of these types of wine. Definately one to try again.

What do you get when you cross two Tassie winemakers with a wine- writer and a little spare time during harvest? Brian Wines. Raising a glass to the Brians of the Australian wine industry, in that by doing almost the exact opposite to what most winemakers named Brian would do, they have ended up making some pretty tasty wine.

Brian

Brian Wines, a delightful Tasmanian venture, began in 2012 when esteemed winemakers Joe Holyman, Peter Dredge (affectionately known as Dredgey), and renowned wine writer Mike Bennie joined forces.

The trio, inspired by their shared passions for the weird and wonderful in the world of wine, wanted to make something that would add a dash of technicolour to the Tasmanian wine tapestry. And so, the unique and uniquely delicious range of small-batch, natural wines known as Brian was born.

Producing cheeky 375ml bottles bursting with funk, these wines have garnered a cult following and consistently sell out swiftly. All fruit is hand-picked, undergoes wild fermentation, and sees no additions, filtering, or fining, with minimal sulfur usage. These are funky drops designed for good times.
