Description

The Laura Lardy Chenas Le Fayarde will make you feel like you've just stuck your nose into a bowl of fruit (in a good way).

While the subregion of Chenas may not be as well known as Morgon, Fleurie or Moulin-a-Vent, it is possible to find some incredibly good wines there, and La Fayarde is one example. While it's not as rich and complex as Lardy's other wines, it is certainly the freshest and most vibrant.

Red fruits, spice characters and high acid are supported by some surprising structure, with minerality adding a bit of interest to the palate.

94 Points
"Delicious, is the message, and effortless. This is off 40 year old vines... Moody, brooding red but with freshness on its side. Dark cherry, a little smoky character, woody spices, but generally about this bouncy, crisp freshness of darker fruits. Good length, good vitality. Fantastic drinking, with architecture notable in the wine. Serious stuff, and lifted."

94 Points - "It feels like Laura Lardy likes lighter, fresher, acid and mineral driven expressions of Beaujolais. All have huge drinkability, and may miss concentration, but show tannin and acid profile of note. Delicious, is the message, and effortless. This is off 40 year old vines.

Good not great!

We had a night of Beaujolais and unfortunately this was one of the weaker ones for me...

Grapes: Gamay

Vineyard: 40 years old vines on sand and granite, north-east exposure. Practicing organics

Making of: Grapes are hand-harvested and sorted, then spontaneously ferment as whole bunches in concrete tanks (traditional carbonic maceration). Slow press directly into old barrels where the wine rests for 6 months. No fining or filtration, minimum sulfur at bottling.

Personality: intense fruit with pronounced tannins and a long acidic finish that make this wine perfect also for cellaring. Serve chilled to enjoy its fruity notes.

No, feel free to mix it up! There is no minimum requirement. You can order wines in any quantity or combination, 1 or 50+ bottles.

No, all prices are set at the full discounted dozen rate already.

Most wine retailers list at a single-bottle price and then discount 10–15% when you buy six or twelve. We've taken the opposite approach. Since the overwhelming majority of our orders are already 6 bottles or more, our list price is set for the case buyer from the start. There's no inflated single-bottle price to discount down from.

What that means for you:

- One price, same for everyone — no minimum to hit to unlock the best rate
- No mixed-six gymnastics to qualify for a discount
- Our single-bottle price is typically at or below a traditional retailer's by-the-dozen rate

Put simply: the box discount is already baked into the price.

**And if you find it cheaper elsewhere?** Let us know. If the same wine is available at a lower price at another retailer (including at their mixed-six or by-the-dozen rate) we're happy to match it.

If you can't add more wine to your cart it means we are low on stock of that wine. For example, if you are only able to 3 bottles and no more that means we only have 3 bottles left of that wine. If it's a must have, please contact us and we may be able to order more in for you.
