Description

Grands Teppes comes from some of Ganevat’s oldest Chardonnay vines, planted on limestone and marl soils that give the wine its depth and precision. The 2020 is a standout vintage, with fruit hand-harvested and fermented naturally before spending time in old oak, a patient, gentle approach that’s typical of Ganevat.

The wine has a quiet power to it. There’s richness in the fruit but also a fine mineral line that keeps everything tight and focused. Notes of citrus, stone fruit and spice mingle with that Jura earthiness, and the palate has both texture and length without ever feeling overdone. It’s complex and layered now, but you can tell it’s only going to get better with a few more years in bottle.

This is Chardonnay that sits comfortably alongside the world’s great expressions of the grape, yet it still carries that unmistakable Jura character. For fans of Ganevat or serious white Burgundy, it’s a bottle well worth chasing.

97 points - "The 2018 Les Grands Teppes Vieilles Vignes, produced with Chardonnay grapes from vines planted in 1919 on red marl and gravel soils, fermented with indigenous yeasts and aged in neutral oak barrels for four years with the lees and was bottled unfined, unfiltered and with no added sulfur, the new Ganevat way for ouillé or topped-up whites. The wine is slightly reductive (I drank a bottle shortly after, and the reduction was still there but went away after a few minutes in the glass), with a note of struck match, but it is also precise, clean and fresh, with a pale color and crystalline flavors. This is pristine and a little austere, developing some spiciness (faintly reminiscent of flor...), with a long, tasty and salty finish. A superb Teppes that transcends the character of the vintage." - Luis Gutiérrez

Ganevat

Jean Francois Ganevat is one of the benchmark vignerons of the Jura region.

With the wisdom of generations of grape-growing knowledge coursing through his veins and the tutelage of his Burgundian legend mentor Jean-Marc Morey at front of mind, 'Fanfan' has taken his family Domaine to mythical status during his tenure as proprietor.

These wines are coveted the world over for their otherworldly clarity and precision. They are vivid and vibrant and made in painfully small quantities. They stand as a beacon of quality and craftsmanship in the natural wine world.

If you are lucky enough to sample one of his cuveés, it's likely to be an experience you will not soon forget.

No, feel free to mix it up! There is no minimum requirement. You can order wines in any quantity or combination, 1 or 50+ bottles.

No, all prices are set at the full discounted dozen rate already.

Most wine retailers list at a single-bottle price and then discount 10–15% when you buy six or twelve. We've taken the opposite approach. Since the overwhelming majority of our orders are already 6 bottles or more, our list price is set for the case buyer from the start. There's no inflated single-bottle price to discount down from.

What that means for you:

- One price, same for everyone — no minimum to hit to unlock the best rate
- No mixed-six gymnastics to qualify for a discount
- Our single-bottle price is typically at or below a traditional retailer's by-the-dozen rate

Put simply: the box discount is already baked into the price.

**And if you find it cheaper elsewhere?** Let us know. If the same wine is available at a lower price at another retailer (including at their mixed-six or by-the-dozen rate) we're happy to match it.

If you can't add more wine to your cart it means we are low on stock of that wine. For example, if you are only able to 3 bottles and no more that means we only have 3 bottles left of that wine. If it's a must have, please contact us and we may be able to order more in for you.
