Margan Wines
Margan Wines has long been one of the Hunter Valley's most loved producers, but with young winemaking star Ollie Margan joining dad Andrew in the cellar in recent years, the quality and excitement of the wines coming from this address has gone to another level.
Nestled up in Broke a short drive out of the main Hunter tourist drag, the unique volcanic soils that Andrew and Lisa Margan started their estate on in 1996 lend themselves to producing flavoursome, clearly structured wines of power and personality.
The farming is all organic and sustainable, and whilst they produce some of the Hunter's most popular classics in Shiraz, Semillon and Chardonnay, it's their work with 'alternative' varieties such as Albarino and Barbera that perhaps brings the most excitement.
Margan is well and truly amongst the Hunter's finest producers (and quite possibly the best spot for lunch too!).
