Domaine d'Alussia represents a compelling new chapter in the heart of Aloxe-Corton, born from the restructuring of the former Domaine Mischief and Mayhem.
At the centre of this evolution is Australian winemaker Alexandra Wilson, who took full control of the winemaking and harvest in 2024. Wilson brings a serious pedigree to the estate, having cut her teeth alongside her aunt, Jane Eyre, and the legendary Benjamin Leroux.
The domaine manages several organically certified and biodynamic plots across the Côte de Beaune and Côte de Nuits, including prime holdings in Savigny-lès-Beaune, Pommard, and a rare 0.3ha sliver of Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru ‘Les Referts’.
Working closely with organic specialist Bernard Zito, Wilson has pivoted the house style toward a more modern, transparent aesthetic. In the cellar, the heavy-handed oak of the past has been dialed back in favour of a more technical and thoughtful approach.
Wilson utilises a mix of older French oak and ceramic "Clayver" balls to build sophisticated texture and mid-palate weight without masking the high-toned fruit purity. The resulting wines - from the vibrant, saline Bourgogne Aligoté to the structural yet silky Pommard - are defined by their freshness and "crunch". For those following the new generation of talent in Burgundy, Alussia is a name firmly on the map as a producer to watch.
