Andiamo!
2020 Ciro Picariello Fiano di Avellino
The fruit for Ciro's estate-bottled Fiano di Avellino comes from two areas within the appellation, Summonte (around Picariello's house and winery), which is at 650m (2,100 feet) above sea level and Montefredane, at around 500m (1,650 feet) above sea level.
The wine shows vivid, distinctive aromas and flavours of almond, herbs, citrus, and an enticing smokey/struck flint character from volcanic soil. On the palate there is bright, green-apple acidity, and great complexity.
Fiano is one of the most age-worthy white wines in Italy, and this will go ten or fifteen years very easily (if you can wait that long!)

Pre-Phylloxera Perricone was the dominant red grape variety in Sicily, before the bug devastated plantings. The small amounts remaining in the western part of the island are often blended with other native varieties such as Nero d'Avola.
Terre di Vita have released a 100% Perricone that is mid-heavy and warmly tannic. Certified organic fruit, all raised in concrete rather than oak, with dark cherry, blackcurrant, olive, fennel/aniseed characters.
A deliciously-great value, unusual red for cool times or the cooler months.

The Giuseppe Campagnola Bardolino Novello is one of the freshest and fruitiest Italian red wines you will find.
Made from the same grapes you see in a Valpolicella blend, the wine shows bright red fruits on the nose and palate and high acidity, giving it an aroma, taste and feel very much reminiscent of a Beaujolais Nouveau, which are made to be light and fruity and quaffed, rather than mulled over.
With some notes of herbs and a slightly bitter aftertaste, there is also some depth to the wine. This is a wine that's ideal for consumption with pasta dishes, pizza, cheese, or any other light meals.

From high up in the Monferratos hills above Asti comes this equal parts blend of Nebbiolo and Barbera from a young exciting Piemontese couple.
Savoury, dark, moreish and sweet, a wine of complexity and contrasting characters, the freshness of the Barbera, acting as a counterpoint and balance to the Nebbiolo structure. Simply delicious, a blend from an area that frowns on such things, from a couple who are quite happy to continue to buck convention.

A regional classic, Puglia Primitivo is generally quite a rich full-bodied wine, yet this offering from A.Mano, marches to the beat of its own drum.
With no oak used, there is a real fresh character to this wine with a pretty, aromatic lift on the nose. Fresh raspberries and blackcurrants drive the aromas, with a little spice developing on the palate, where the fuller fruit notes are more prominent.
It’s quite youthful and primary, with the clear and clean fruit characters driving this supple, fresh expression of Primitivo.

All sweet and savoury Sangiovese joy from Brancaia. No oak at all (which is not required in Chianti Classico regulations) it is aged in a combinations of concrete and steel tanks.
Fresh and crisp with great acidity, with flavours of cherry stones, wild herbs and woodland air.
This is not a glou-glou chillable red though - there's plenty of drive, length and quality grape tannin.
