2024 Billy Button Rosato

Billy Button is the passion project of Jo Marsh, one of the Alpine Valleys’ most talented winemakers, supported by her husband Glenn James and young winemaker Alex Phillips. Known for crafting small-batch wines from offbeat varieties, Billy Button is all about showcasing the beauty of the Alpine Valleys with a fresh and creative approach.

The 2024 Rosato is made entirely from Sangiovese, sourced from Ferraro Vineyards in Myrtleford. Delicately machine-harvested, crushed, and fermented in stainless steel, this rosé sees time on yeast lees for added texture while maintaining a focus on freshness.

Pale salmon in colour, it offers delicate aromas of strawberry leaf, red cherry, and a hint of fairy floss. The palate is light and refreshing, with bright red fruit flavours, a soft textural element, and a crisp, dry finish. It’s balanced, uncomplicated, and delightfully drinkable—an ideal companion for sunny days or casual gatherings.

The Billy Button Rosato is yet another example of Jo Marsh’s gentle, thoughtful winemaking style, highlighting the charm of alternative varieties from the Alpine Valleys.

2024 Havilah Pinot Rose

Tasmania and Pinot Rosé go hand in hand, and Ricky Evans knows exactly how to get the best from both. This year’s release is 100% Pinot Noir, sourced from two standout sites: Glen Shian in Relbia (early-ripening fruit with soft acidity) and Ricky’s own Woodlawn Vineyard (Abel clone, bright acid, savoury edge).

The fruit from Glen Shian was pressed straight to a mix of tank and seasoned foudre, adding depth and silkiness, while the Woodlawn component fermented in steel, keeping things crisp and vibrant. Bone dry, beautifully pale and effortlessly elegant, it’s the kind of rosé that balances freshness with a little extra weight, making it perfect for both summer sipping and year-round drinking.

It’s all about wild strawberries, citrus zest and a savoury, saline twist, with a clean, thirst-quenching finish. Put it on ice and pair it with good food, good company, and plenty of sunshine.

2024 Vinden Headcase Rose

Angus Vinden keeps pushing the Hunter Valley in fresh directions, and this Rosé is a perfect snapshot of that energy. Built from a bit of everything - Tempranillo, Semillon, Shiraz, Gewürz, and more - it’s crafted from ten separate ferments, with fruit handled in stainless, old oak, and concrete to keep things lively but layered.

It’s dry, bright, and full of character, with a bit of extra texture thanks to some time on Chardonnay lees. You’re not getting a simple, by-the-numbers pink here; there’s real thought behind it, but it still hits that easygoing, drink-me-now sweet spot. The balance between red fruit, citrus, and a flicker of spice keeps things moving, making it as at home at a backyard barbecue as it is on a dinner table.

Like everything from Vinden right now, this is a wine that feels personal and a bit playful - a reminder that good Rosé can be both fun and seriously well made.

2025 Dominique Portet Fontaine Rose

Who better to make an Australian interpretation of Provence-styled rose than a Frenchman who has worked in Provence?

The Portet family were one of the pioneers of this modern, dry, savoury style of rose and this is one of their best releases to date.

Made from Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Shiraz - this is a deceptively textural style of rose given that it never sees a wooden barrel. It's dry, crisp and ludicrously easy to drink.

Consistently one of the great bargains of Australian Rose.

2025 Bondar Rose

Andre Bondar is one of the best makers of Rose in Australia. There. We said it.

And the 2025 is absolutely on point yet again. A blend of Grenache (90%), Cinsault (5%), and Mataro (5%), this rosé is all about freshness, delicacy, and drinkability, perfectly capturing the breezy charm of their coastal home.

It's pale, dry, and full of aromas of red berries, watermelon, and a hint of citrus. The palate is crisp and refreshing, with juicy fruit flavours balanced by a clean, savoury finish.

Our go-to Aussie Rose and unbeatable value!

"In any year, this is a sure candidate for Australia’s top rosé – for both quality and value ... A benchmark mod-Oz rosé.”
– Young Gun Of Wine, 2023.

"This is benchmark stuff, further cementing Bondar's rosé as a reference point."
- Marcus Ellis, Halliday Wine Companion
"Always one of the country's finest rosés"
- Ned Goodwin MW, Halliday Wine Companion

2024 Mulline Rose

Looking for dry and delicious Rose from the Best Value Winery in Australia this year (according to Halliday Wine Companion)? Well, this is the only wine in the country that fits that bill.

Ben Mullen crafts this from mostly Syrah (Shiraz) with a touch of Pinot Noir. Barrel fermented and aged on lees for a few months to slowly build texture, this is a beautiful, delicate and floral take on quasi-Provencale-style Rose.

It's slippery, gently spicy and a lot of fun to drink.

95 points
"Dry, flavoursome – but not too much so – and salivating. You can't ask for much more really."
- Philip Rich (Halliday Wine Companion)

92 points
"This is a crunchy rosé with green apple, citrus, cranberry and red cherry characters bursting throughout... The longer I sat with this wine the more the texture came out, but the energy/refreshment never waned. It’s good."
- Campbell Mattinson (The Wine Front)
