Macvin is one of the Jura’s quirks, a fortified wine made by blending fresh grape must with marc (local brandy) and then ageing it slowly in barrel. In the hands of Jean-François Ganevat, it becomes something seriously special. His Vieux Macvin is drawn from old vine fruit and spends extended time in oak, building layers of flavour and complexity that you don’t often see in this style.
The result is rich and expressive, with dried fruit, nuts, spice and a gentle sweetness lifted by bright acidity. It’s warming and indulgent yet still feels balanced, the kind of wine that works just as well at the end of a meal as it does alongside cheese or a fruit tart. Like all of Ganevat’s wines, it’s made with an obsessive attention to detail, and you can taste that in every sip.
Macvin might be an outlier in the Jura’s lineup, but this bottling shows just how soulful and rewarding it can be. If you’ve never tried one before, this is the place to start.

Our warehouse is automated so unless you tell us otherwise, we will ship your order. If you can't add more wine to your cart it means we are low on stock of that wine. For example, if you are only able to 3 bottles and no more that means we only have 3 bottles left of that wine. If it's a must have, please contact us and we may be able to order more in for you.
