Description

"At 47, when I wanted to create my own Champagne house, I had to make very good Champagne. I can't compromise on quality. Everything I thought was a challenge in my life has turned out to be the opportunity of a lifetime."
- Virginie Taittinger

This mixed pack is the perfect way to discover and taste the sensational wines of our latest direct import from France - Champagne Virginie T.

The "Princess of Champagne" Virginie Taittinger established Champagne Virginie T in 2008 after more than 20 years working alongside her father, Claude, at Taittinger. Her mother’s family owned Piper-Heidsieck, giving her a background in two well-known houses before she set out on her own.

She now runs the house with her son, Ferdinand Pougatch-Taittinger, from Verzenay in the Montagne de Reims. Production is fewer than 90,000 bottles a year, using both their own vineyards and fruit sourced from other growers.

The range centres on Pinot Noir from the Montagne de Reims and Chardonnay from the Côte des Blancs. Blended cuvées sit alongside Blanc de Blancs and Blanc de Noirs, offering different perspectives on these grapes and their origins.

Long ageing on lees is central to their approach, including for the introductory wines. It brings developed flavours and a rounded texture, balanced by freshness and generally modest dosage.

These are Champagnes full of flavour and personality, with enough substance for the table, and the depth to go the distance.  Tremendous value here for an exciting small and independent Champagne house.

The pack includes:

  • NV Champagne Virginie T Transmission Brut
  • NV Champagne Virginie T Transmission Rose
  • NV Champagne Virginie T Equilibre Premier Cru

NV Champagne Virginie T Transmission Brut

Virginie Taittinger knows a thing or two about Champagne, and Transmission Brut is a great introduction to what she’s doing under her own name. It’s the starting point for our direct imports from Virginie T, with the incredible family pedigree, quality classified vineyards and extended ageing that got us excited about the range when we met in France.

After around twenty years working at Taittinger, Virginie, labelled in her earlier years as the "Princess of Champagne", established her own house in 2008. She now makes the wines alongside her son Ferdinand Pougatch-Taittinger, keeping production small and giving the Champagnes plenty of time in the cellar before release.

Transmission is led by Pinot Noir, with Chardonnay and Meunier completing the blend and a strong contribution from Premier Cru and Grand Cru classified vineyards. Extended ageing on lees - far beyond the usual at this price point - builds flavour and a creamy texture, so you’re getting the benefit of that patience when you open the bottle.

Citrus and ripe orchard fruit come with toasted brioche and a little nuttiness. It’s generous and gently savoury, with fine bubbles and enough freshness to keep the finish clean.

This is the bottle to get to know the house, and one we want people to feel comfortable opening without a special occasion. For a family-made Champagne with 5+ years already spent in the cellar, this is one of best value fine Champagnes in the Aussie market today.

NV Champagne Virginie T Transmission Rose

Five years in the cellar before release is a pretty good starting point for rosé Champagne. Virginie T’s Transmission Rosé gets that time, along with fruit predominantly from Premier and Grand Cru vineyards, making it one of the most compelling Champagne Rose buys around.

Virginie Taittinger spent around twenty years at her family’s famous house before establishing her own. Today she works alongside her son Ferdinand, making small quantities of Champagne with an emphasis on flavour, texture and patient ageing.

Here, Chardonnay takes a slight lead over Pinot Noir, with a small addition of Grand Cru red wine giving the blend its colour and extra depth. Three-quarters of the fruit comes from Premier and Grand Cru vineyards, followed by five years on lees to develop the wine and soften the bubbles.

Strawberry and cherry come with gentle spice and a little savoury richness. It’s dry and substantial, with a creamy feel, fine bubbles and the freshness to keep you coming back.

There’s enough here to enjoy throughout a meal, or simply take your time over a glass. Family-made rosé Champagne with quality vineyards and years of ageing already behind it, offering remarkable value.

NV Champagne Virginie T Equilibre Premier Cru

All Premier Cru fruit and at least five years in the cellar make Équilibre one of the best buys in the Virginie T lineup. It’s the sort of Champagne we were determined to find and bring in ourselves: proper pedigree, delicious to drink and tremendous value.

Virginie Taittinger brings twenty years of experience at her family’s famous house to the label she now runs with her son Ferdinand. Together, they keep production small and give their wines time to develop before release.

Équilibre is equal parts Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, centred on the Premier Cru villages of Sermiers and Jouy-lès-Reims in the Petite Montagne de Reims. The clay-limestone soils contribute to a naturally rounded style, allowing a low dosage without making the wine feel austere.

Preserved citrus, almond and a little toast come with a supple texture and gentle chalky grip. There’s freshness through the long, dry finish, but the hallmark here is the delicious generosity of fruit - it's a great thing to drink!

This is Champagne to pour in a proper wine glass and take your time with. Premier Cru vineyards, patient ageing and a family with serious Champagne experience make Équilibre a standout for value in our direct-import range.

No, feel free to mix it up! There is no minimum requirement. You can order wines in any quantity or combination, 1 or 50+ bottles.

No, all prices are set at the full discounted dozen rate already.

Most wine retailers list at a single-bottle price and then discount 10–15% when you buy six or twelve. We've taken the opposite approach. Since the overwhelming majority of our orders are already 6 bottles or more, our list price is set for the case buyer from the start. There's no inflated single-bottle price to discount down from.

What that means for you:

- One price, same for everyone — no minimum to hit to unlock the best rate
- No mixed-six gymnastics to qualify for a discount
- Our single-bottle price is typically at or below a traditional retailer's by-the-dozen rate

Put simply: the box discount is already baked into the price.

**And if you find it cheaper elsewhere?** Let us know. If the same wine is available at a lower price at another retailer (including at their mixed-six or by-the-dozen rate) we're happy to match it.

If you can't add more wine to your cart it means we are low on stock of that wine. For example, if you are only able to 3 bottles and no more that means we only have 3 bottles left of that wine. If it's a must have, please contact us and we may be able to order more in for you.
