Description

Something a bit different here from Matt Large. A genuine field blend of Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay and Savagnin are picked on the same day and fermented together - not typical blending buddies but geez it works well here.

The dry-grown Southern Fleurieu site is farmed organically by Matt, with sandy loam, ironstone and quartz over limestone and clay. Roughly equal portions of the three varieties ferment in clay amphora, followed by four months on lees before bottling while the fruit is still fresh and lively.

Citrus, pear and a little custard apple give the palate some flesh, with herbal notes and a pleasantly bitter, tonic-like edge. There’s texture and a fine grip through the finish, keeping it interesting well beyond the first sip.

This combines the freshness of an early release with the texture of amphora fermentation: an individual, vineyard-focused white with plenty of everyday appeal.

"This is like a wine equivalent of tonic water – but with better texture, better length and more, of course, sophistication. It’s a ripping white wine to drink."
- Campbell Mattinson (The Wine Front)

94 points - "Blend of Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay and Savagnin from the Magpie Block in the Southern Fleurieu region. This is like a wine equivalent of tonic water – but with better texture, better length and more, of course, sophistication. It’s a ripping white wine to drink. It’s drifted with herbs, hit up with citrus flavour, fleshed with nashi pear, stonefruit, grapefruit pulp and cooked apple flavours, and then thoroughly insistent through the finish. Yes please. More please. Lovely." - Campbell Mattinson (The Wine Front)

The Spring White is a field blend of Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay and Savagnin all from the Magpie Block, Southern Fleurieu. The site features an E-NE slope of sandy loam with ironstone, quartz over limestone and clay. The vineyard is dry-grown and Matt has been managing it organically since taking over.

The blend is roughly equal parts of the three varieties, which were harvested on the same day and co-fermented in a clay amphora. The wine was left on lees for 4 months before being blended and bottled to capture the freshness and immediacy of the new season's wine. The 2026 vintage carries the hallmark mineral acid and talc-y grip of the Magpie Block, but with a fleshy citrus and custard apple mid-palate, and refreshing tonic water and sherbet lift.

No, feel free to mix it up! There is no minimum requirement. You can order wines in any quantity or combination, 1 or 50+ bottles.

No, all prices are set at the full discounted dozen rate already.

Most wine retailers list at a single-bottle price and then discount 10–15% when you buy six or twelve. We've taken the opposite approach. Since the overwhelming majority of our orders are already 6 bottles or more, our list price is set for the case buyer from the start. There's no inflated single-bottle price to discount down from.

What that means for you:

- One price, same for everyone — no minimum to hit to unlock the best rate
- No mixed-six gymnastics to qualify for a discount
- Our single-bottle price is typically at or below a traditional retailer's by-the-dozen rate

Put simply: the box discount is already baked into the price.

**And if you find it cheaper elsewhere?** Let us know. If the same wine is available at a lower price at another retailer (including at their mixed-six or by-the-dozen rate) we're happy to match it.

If you can't add more wine to your cart it means we are low on stock of that wine. For example, if you are only able to 3 bottles and no more that means we only have 3 bottles left of that wine. If it's a must have, please contact us and we may be able to order more in for you.
