**MAX 3 BOTTLES PER CUSTOMER**

Tolpuddle Chardonnay sits in the top handful of the most feverishly sought-after wines in Australia, and the 2025 is another sensational release. This single Coal River Valley vineyard continues to show just how good Tasmanian Chardonnay can be.

Under Michael Hill Smith MW, Martin Shaw and winemaker Adam Wadewitz, the focus remains firmly on this remarkable site. A mild summer and well-timed rain in 2025 allowed slow, even ripening, with a slightly later harvest delivering concentrated fruit and excellent acidity.

The fruit was hand picked, whole-bunch pressed and fermented in French oak. Ten months in barrel with gentle stirring was followed by another four months on lees in tank, building texture and giving the wine time to settle before bottling.

White peach, lime and a little struck match come with creamy almond and a savoury, salty edge. It’s tightly wound at first, gaining weight as it opens, with firm acidity and a gently pithy finish that carries the flavour a long way.

Give it time in the glass now, or cellar it as long as you like. A benchmark Tasmanian Chardonnay in sensational form.

"This edition of Tolpuddle Chardonnay is a classic in the making. It has three key features: unforced complexity, an impression of effortlessness, and outstanding length."
- Campbell Mattinson (campbellmattinson.com)

97+ points - "Tight and intricately detailed, as always, with bright citrus, peach and white nectarine fruits overseen by a mist of flint and struck-march complexity. Hints of grilled hazelnuts, almond butter, vanillin oak, clover blossom, crushed riverstone, crème fraîche, ozone, oatmeal and sea spray. Lightly textural, with a beautiful taut mineral line, the flavours precise and drawn out along its length. This has a tight mineral cadence, a touch of apple-skin pithiness, preserved lemon, nougat and a pristine, sustained finish with a flair of umami. This is a producer and a site that is in the finest of form. No wonder the French are nervous – once again, world-class Australian chardonnay." - Dave Brookes (Halliday Wine Companion)

97 points - "A good winter of rain in 2025, on the long-term average, set things up well; warmish flowering brought a strong fruit set, well-timed rain worked its magic through the Coal River Valley, and a mild summer followed – overall cooler than 2024 on the data, delivering good yields and quality. This is a wine that has, since Tolpuddle's first release in 2013, become one of the benchmarks for Australian Chardonnay – taut, mineral, and precise in a way few sites in the country can match. There's such allure to the perfume as the wine relaxes in the glass. Cashew cream and white flowers hover above pure and precise fruit – white peach, salted grapefruit, preserved lemon, makrut lime. There's some saline oyster shell minerality and whispers of fine cedar bringing savoury complexity. The trademark flinty reduction permeates but not aggressively at this stage of the wine's life. On the palate, there's both power and precision with a lovely creamy texture cut up by tensile saline acidity and chalky phenolic drive. The fruit notes mirror the nose, carried very long with that classic Tolpuddle crystalline drive and some preserved lemon brininess drenching the close with salinity. Top flight Tolpuddle Chardonnay here. Power and precision in equal measure, and a balance that will see it age brilliantly." - Tom Kline (Wine Pilot)

97 points - "This edition of Tolpuddle Chardonnay is a classic in the making. It has three key features: unforced complexity, an impression of effortlessness, and outstanding length. It tastes of iron, grilled peach, lemon, tonic water and nougat, though there's an underpinning of umami and a subtle flintiness in play too. It's al quite exquisite. It's all quite fabulous." - Campbell Mattinson (campbellmattinson.com)

95 points - "As ever with Tolpuddle it’s a tight and racy wine, offering savoury nuance, plenty of flint and struck match, a saline oyster shell character, spicy cinnamon oak, fennel, and a bright and tangy acid bite. It’s not huge on flavour, but does have a lime, white peach and green olive and a little creamy almond richness. The finish is bright and long, with citrus rind and a quinine bite to close. It’s a style that will tickle the fancy of many, for sure. It builds some weight with time in the glass, so I’d suggest there’s a fair bit more to come here once it settles into bottle." - Gary Walsh (The Wine Front)

Powerful yet precise, with impressive concentration and energy. Tightly coiled at first, revealing white flower and jasmine, layered with a complex, savoury lees character. The palate carries weight and extract while remaining clean and driven by a firm core of acidity. Lime zest and tonic notes bring freshness and subtle astringency to the finish.

2025 VINTAGE

Winter rainfall was in line with the long-term average, maintaining soil moisture and supporting steady early growth, while a slightly drier spring created ideal flowering conditions. A mild summer with timely rainfall delivered healthy canopies and wellformed bunches, and a cool, dry lead-up to veraison ensured slow, even ripening and excellent acid retention. Harvest ran slightly later than previous seasons, producing balanced fruit with structure.

Tolpuddle

On an expedition to Tasmania in 2011, Martin Shaw and Michael Hill Smith MW purchased a stunning vineyard in the Coal River Valley which they thought had the potential to make some of the finest Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in the region.

Tolpuddle is now one of Tasmania’s most talked about vineyards, producing wines of blistering precision and finesse which have received rave critical acclaim.

They are highly sought-after and are some of the finest examples of these varieties that can be found anywhere on the Apple Isle. These are premium wines that should be savoured.

No, all prices are set at the full discounted dozen rate already.

Most wine retailers list at a single-bottle price and then discount 10–15% when you buy six or twelve. We've taken the opposite approach. Since the overwhelming majority of our orders are already 6 bottles or more, our list price is set for the case buyer from the start. There's no inflated single-bottle price to discount down from.

What that means for you:

- One price, same for everyone — no minimum to hit to unlock the best rate
- No mixed-six gymnastics to qualify for a discount
- Our single-bottle price is typically at or below a traditional retailer's by-the-dozen rate

Put simply: the box discount is already baked into the price.

**And if you find it cheaper elsewhere?** Let us know. If the same wine is available at a lower price at another retailer (including at their mixed-six or by-the-dozen rate) we're happy to match it.

If you can't add more wine to your cart it means we are low on stock of that wine. For example, if you are only able to 3 bottles and no more that means we only have 3 bottles left of that wine. If it's a must have, please contact us and we may be able to order more in for you.
