Description
Hamish Young has a way with texture that sets his wines apart, and this Nebbiolo Rosé is one of the best examples of his style. It has become a cult favourite for a reason - it delivers serious complexity while remaining incredibly fun to drink.
Sourced from the Mullany Family Vineyard in Wombat (near Young, NSW), the fruit comes from vines planted in 1996 on ancient red sands, shale and granite. It is a harsh, continental site that produces Nebbiolo with thick skins and plenty of personality.
Hamish leans into that character rather than trying to polish it away. For the 2025 vintage, he included a portion of harder pressings to introduce some tannin grip. The ferment was split between stainless steel (50%), old French oak (44%) and a small whole-berry component (6%).
This mix of vessels builds layers into the wine. It isn't just a simple "summer water"; it has genuine crunch and weight. Expect notes of watermelon slushy, smashed nectarine and orange rind, backed by a dry, savoury finish that keeps you coming back for more.

Our warehouse is automated so unless you tell us otherwise, we will ship your order. No, all prices are set at the full discounted dozen rate already.
If you can't add more wine to your cart it means we are low on stock of that wine. For example, if you are only able to 3 bottles and no more that means we only have 3 bottles left of that wine. If it's a must have, please contact us and we may be able to order more in for you.
