Description

Howard Park has been one of Margaret River’s most respected names for decades, but the Miamup range is where they show just how good their everyday wines can be. Chardonnay is a natural fit here, and the 2024 vintage gave them near perfect conditions – steady weather, long ripening, fruit coming in full of flavour but with that lovely line of acidity the region is known for.

This wine pulls together fruit from a handful of sites across Margaret River, which gives it a nice balance of citrus zip, stonefruit weight and a touch of that coastal freshness. The winemaking is kept pretty simple – some fermentation in French oak, some in stainless steel, and just a little lees stirring for texture – so what you get is Chardonnay that tastes alive and unforced.

It’s fresh, flavoursome and super drinkable, the sort of wine you could happily open any night of the week but still feel like you’re drinking something a bit special. Great value, and a very handy bottle to have around.

93 points - "Several different blocks and clones have contributed to a very tidy young Chardonnay. A feature is its texture and beautiful mouth feel with flavours of melon, light cashew and a little melon. The oak has been lightly applied with just a small amount of new oak to lift and spice things up. Further complexity comes from the lees stirring approach. A balanced and highly appealing chardonnay." - Ray Jordan (Wine Pilot)

91 points - "Sourced mostly from Wilyabrup, this sees 50% French oak (10% new) and 50% stainless steel. Soft aromas of grapefruit and white nougat lead, followed by dehydrated lime, pear, flickers of cedar and a hint of flint. The palate delivers a bright burst of fruit – lime, peach, white grapefruit, lemon peel and pear – underpinned by subtle cedar and flint. There’s a chalky grip to the sides and an ample wash of citrus to close. It doesn’t reach for great complexity or power, but it’s a Chardonnay that speaks clearly of Margaret River, and it delivers strong regional character at a fair price." - Tom Kline (Wine Pilot)

91 points - "Fresh, citrus-driven aromas of lemon peel, grapefruit, orange blossoms and flint. The midweight palate has lively acidity and a generous texture. Bright and linear with a nice reductive touch in the finish." - Ryan Montgomery (James Suckling)

90 points - "2024 was a wild year, catching many off guard as the earliest harvest in the history of winemaking in Margaret River. Most producers, including Howard Park, saw fruit picked four weeks earlier than usual, and the ripening pace for all varieties was just as fast as it was early. This is a lovely, drink-now chardonnay with plenty of charm. Perfumed and with plenty of gloss and interest in the nose, is this only a $30 wine? Lightly toasted oak, lively frangipani notes, and plenty of fruit freshness abound. White peach, lemon pith, sea salt, a dusting of baking spice, with pink lady fruit sweetness tucked in there. The palate is leaner than the nose suggests, with rather light fruit weight and acidity that steals the spotlight. Temper the punchy acidity and embrace the lively fruit by pairing with a mid-week takeaway treat. Fish and Chips or a buttermilk fried chicken burger with slaw would be perfection." - Cassandra Charlick (Wine Pilot)

Howard Park Miami review

A great very easy drinking Chardonnay great subtle characteristics a perfect drop to accompany any meal

Pale green straw in the glass, this wine opens with lifted aromas of citrus blossom and white florals, complemented by a myriad of pink and white grapefruit. Notes of scratched lemon skin and pith intertwine with hints of fresh waterfall spray and wet stone minerality. The palate is vibrant and lively, showcasing flavours of pink and green apple, kiwi, and white peach. Crunchy green pear, green melon, and clementine add precision and linear drive, while a subtle touch of seasoned oak softens the texture, achieving a perfect balance between bright fruit and refreshing acidity. This is a refined, elegant expression of Margaret River Chardonnay.

No, all prices are set at the full discounted dozen rate already.

Most wine retailers list at a single-bottle price and then discount 10–15% when you buy six or twelve. We've taken the opposite approach. Since the overwhelming majority of our orders are already 6 bottles or more, our list price is set for the case buyer from the start. There's no inflated single-bottle price to discount down from.

What that means for you:

- One price, same for everyone — no minimum to hit to unlock the best rate
- No mixed-six gymnastics to qualify for a discount
- Our single-bottle price is typically at or below a traditional retailer's by-the-dozen rate

Put simply: the box discount is already baked into the price.

**And if you find it cheaper elsewhere?** Let us know. If the same wine is available at a lower price at another retailer (including at their mixed-six or by-the-dozen rate) we're happy to match it.

If you can't add more wine to your cart it means we are low on stock of that wine. For example, if you are only able to 3 bottles and no more that means we only have 3 bottles left of that wine. If it's a must have, please contact us and we may be able to order more in for you.
