Description

"If there is a poster child for the wines of the ‘New Spain’, then Envínate is a strong candidate."
- Luis Gutierrez (The Wine Advocate)

Envínate’s La Santa de Úrsula is an absolute standout red from the Tacoronte-Acentejo zone of Tenerife, and the 2024 vintage has officially gone down as the finest release they have ever produced here. A field blend of 77% Listán Negro, 20% Negramoll, and a splash of white Listán Blanco, it comes from old vines in a traditionally humid, challenging area. The team sidesteps the heavy, oaky styles of mainland Spain to deliver an incredibly serious, stony red focused entirely on freshness.

Following a difficult period with fires in the zone in 2023, the 2024 season bounced back with a dry, perfectly healthy, and beautifully balanced crop. The guys did some green harvesting early on to manage uneven sprouting, resulting in a low-yielding but incredibly precise fruit profile. In the cellar, they let the natural acidity shine, bottling a wine that sits at a light-footed 12% alcohol while packing in an improved level of elegance and finesse that echoes their stellar 2021 release.

The nose is highly aromatic and beautifully perfumed, loaded with intense classical spice, red berries, and a deep, complex complexity. The palate is medium-bodied, serious, and distinctly stony, framed by incredibly fine tannins and a long line of crisp, crunchy acidity. It shows a magnificent level of poise and structural depth without ever feeling heavy.

This is a spectacular, high-fidelity Canary Island red and extremely limited.

"The wine has a perfumed nose, with high aromatic intensity and the spiciness that is so classical here, with depth and complexity."

97 points - "The 2024 La Santa de Úrsula has to be the finest vintage for this red from the zone of Tacoronte-Acentejo, and this year, it breaks down to 77% Listán Negro, 20% Negramoll and 3% Listán Blanco. There was a fire in the zone in 2023, and 2024 was dry and healthy—it's a humid zone that's prone to illnesses—with a good yield (10% less than in 2023) and balance. The wine has a perfumed nose, with high aromatic intensity and the spiciness that is so classical here, with depth and complexity. It comes in at 12% alcohol, with a pH of 3.33 and 6.18 grams of acidity. It has a medium-bodied palate with fine tannins, and it is stony and serious, with more elegance and finesse, like an improved version of 2021. 5,700 bottles produced. It was bottled in July 2025.

I tasted the bottled 2024s (and the bottled 2023 Migan) from Tenerife with Roberto Santana from Envínate in the middle of their 2025 harvest. 2024 was dry, similar to 2023, with uneven sprouting because of a warm winter, and they had to do a green harvest to correct that. There weren't any heat waves during the summer or harvest, and the harvest was early but not as early as 2023. It was a small crop for reds but very good—quality and quantity—for whites, all of them put through 100% malolactic. 2024 is the best year for La Santa. In Taganana, the style of the reds resembles 2021 or 2022, and the whites might resemble the style of 2023 but with more freshness.

In Tenerife, they work 18 hectares of the 22.5 hectares they control, and they own around 7.5 hectares, with three to five of them in Taganana. In 2024, they produced close to 80,000 bottles, a little less than in 2023." - Luis Gutiérrez (The Wine Advocate)

No, feel free to mix it up! There is no minimum requirement. You can order wines in any quantity or combination, 1 or 50+ bottles.

No, all prices are set at the full discounted dozen rate already.

Most wine retailers list at a single-bottle price and then discount 10–15% when you buy six or twelve. We've taken the opposite approach. Since the overwhelming majority of our orders are already 6 bottles or more, our list price is set for the case buyer from the start. There's no inflated single-bottle price to discount down from.

What that means for you:

- One price, same for everyone — no minimum to hit to unlock the best rate
- No mixed-six gymnastics to qualify for a discount
- Our single-bottle price is typically at or below a traditional retailer's by-the-dozen rate

Put simply: the box discount is already baked into the price.

**And if you find it cheaper elsewhere?** Let us know. If the same wine is available at a lower price at another retailer (including at their mixed-six or by-the-dozen rate) we're happy to match it.

If you can't add more wine to your cart it means we are low on stock of that wine. For example, if you are only able to 3 bottles and no more that means we only have 3 bottles left of that wine. If it's a must have, please contact us and we may be able to order more in for you.
