Monthelie rarely gets the spotlight, but in the right hands it can produce Pinot with striking finesse. Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey’s parcel in the 1er Cru La Riotte sits on classic limestone-clay soils and gives fruit that is finer and more lifted than many expect from this part of the Côte de Beaune. The 2023 vintage has worked in its favour too – despite the heat of harvest, the wines came out fresh, bright and transparent, with the balance and moderate alcohols that Burgundy lovers look for.
This is a Pinot of subtle power, with precise red fruit and a savoury undertow, wrapped in the kind of structure that makes you think it will evolve beautifully in the medium term. It’s not a blockbuster, nor is it meant to be – rather, it’s all about detail, texture and a quietly persistent finish. As always with PYCM’s reds, volumes are tiny, so this is a chance to see just how elegant Monthelie can be when farmed and made with this level of care.

We stock three different sized gift boxes (single, three bottle and six), all are available for purchase for a flat rate of $8. They look great and make an awesome impression.

If you can't add more wine to your cart it means we are low on stock of that wine. For example, if you are only able to 3 bottles and no more that means we only have 3 bottles left of that wine. If it's a must have, please contact us and we may be able to order more in for you.
